Expensive, but a great place to stay! Staff and guests are friendly and helpful. Lots are large and private. Wi-fi available only in the office and rec center, but a high speed cable modem is available at a nominal cost. Many activities and facilities for recreation are available. Groceries and restaurants are close.
Large level sites. Close to Fort Gordon. No restrooms -- self-contained rigs only. Cable TV not available for short term stay. Free wi-fi. Very helpful staff. Expansion in progress will make this an even better place to stay.
Greatly overpriced for what you get! Wi-fi only available in rec center. Rec center is just a big room with no exercise or recreational facilities. Pets are only allowed to take care of business in the dog park -- many guests transport their dogs to the park in golf carts. All lots are privately owned, and the staff gives a hard sell for currently unsold lots with the check-in. No attempt was made to provide information about nearby facilities. We will not stay there again.
A really nice place to stay! Sites are very large, and the ones close to office are level. Some in trees are not level. Very quiet even though Interstate 85 is nearby. Design of hookups is well thought out. Great play area for children. Very friendly staff.
This a very convenient place for an overnight stop. The sites are long and flat. We have stopped here many times, but this time we had a serious problem with the power. At about 2 AM the power to our motorhome went off. The entire power box had no service. There were no employees on site to correct the problem, and nobody in the office the next morning to report the problem to. Because the campground was not crowded, we were able to hook up to another power source. We would not stay here if the campground was full. Also, avoid the sites near the sewage treatment plant as they are noisy.
A pleasant campground with very friendly office staff. Quiet, along river off the beaten path, but easy to find. Our site was a spacious, level pull-through. Office recommended a nearby pizza delivery that brought us a GREAT pizza. There are several negatives, however. Campground caters to seasonal occupants. Only sewer hookups are reserved for seasonals. Sites close to river are seasonal also. Wi-Fi works in limited locations.
Layout of sites and utilities is very erratic and poorly defined. Many sites are not level. Signage is non-existent until you actually enter the fair grounds. Entry from the west on E. Grand Ave is easiest. It is a very pleasant place when it is not crowded, but could be difficult if anything significant is going on at the fair grounds.
Reservation website, recreation.gov, does not make it clear which sites have hookup's and which do not. Very few sites have water & sewer hookups. campground is far from civilization which makes it quiet, but not easy to find groceries, etc. We have stayed at Dam West several times which is MUCH better. We probably will not stay at Coles Creek again.
A beautiful, quiet campground that is well located near Minneapolis. Some sites are not level, but all are good sized and private. The staff we met was very friendly and helpful. A little pricey, but you get a lot for your money.
Wonderful place!!! Choice between wooded and open sites. All are huge and level. Family owned and run with very friendly staff. Nice pool and recreation facilities. Easy drive into Cooperstown. Only complaint: no cable and limited TV in wooded site, but we really didn't have time for TV. Be prepared for steep hill on roads into park.
A great campground! Long, level sites with reasonable space between campers. There is a restaurant on premises. There is a nice pool. The recreation area includes a carousel and other rides for children. There is an excellent fenced dog play area with agility course. Free wifi.
Roads leading to this park are VERY NARROW and winding. Roads inside the park were very tight for our 35 ft cl A motorhome. Our pull-through site was level but barely long enough. Wi-Fi is $5 per hour or $10 per day. No cable or 50 amp at site we had. Many permanent campers here. Swimming pool was nice and paddle boats are available to rent for use on the pond. Not a bad place, but we probably will not stay there again.
Since our last stay here 3 years ago, this campground has gone downhill. There are only 12 sites for transients, the rest are permanently occupied. The campground was littered with trash, including lots of broken glass. The dumpster had no cover and was overflowing. The office was manned by two teenagers that were more interested in each other than in helping me. I had to ask for directions to our campsite. The toilets are porta-potties. There are no showers. Many of the sites are not level and ours was barely long enough for a 35' motor home. We had to park our dinghy on an adjacent empty site.
Under new ownership, this campground is becoming an even better place to stay. The new owner has installed wi-fi, renewed the graveling on the roads, reseeded the grass, and added air conditioning and screened porch to the recreation room. He also rebuilt the pier on the fishing pond. The new owners are friendly and helpful. We had a very pleasant stay here. (888) 876-3016
Truly, a LUXURY resort. Everything is FIRST CLASS from the helpful escort to your site, the spacious sites, to the trash pickup and cleanliness of the entire faculty. By far, the best RV park we have stayed in!
Now a newly minted KOA but not quite up to KOA standards yet. Grassy sites are jammed together with shared utility connections. Sites are level but not large. Pull thoughs are through another site. Access roads have some tight corners. Access from US 60 westbound is a tight turn and down a steep hill. Noise from I-64 and railroad is disturbing. Management is friendly and helpful and really trying to get up to KOA speed. A good overnight stop but not really a destination yet.
A large, well established campground with all of the amenities. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice playground for children.Dog play area included agility course and other fun things to do. Convenient to Louisville and Bardstown.
A nice, quiet, very isolated campground on the Kentucky River. We didn't find any of those level sites other reviewers noted, but were able to achieve some semblance of level with enough blocks. Our site had a long pull through but the paved portion was so narrow we stepped out onto the grass. Access road is very steep and narrow but staff went to top of the hill and blocked the road for us when we left. No cell phone coverage and limited TV. Only serious complaint was very young children racing through the campground on ATV's and golf carts.
A VERY NICE resort! The sites were large and clean. It is a great place for families. Access to the beach is the best we've seen anywhere. Security is good and park is quiet at night. There are several restaurants and a grocery store nearby. We would have rated it higher except for 3 things: 1) Wifi is horribly expensive ($9.95 per day); 2) They charge $5 per day extra for a dog; and 3) virtually none of the sites are even close to level.
Excellent RV Park! Easy access to interstate. Very long pull-through sites that are LEVEL! Nice facilities, including a beach and snack bar. Only problem - their Wifi is terrible! After paying $6 for one day's access, I had a strong signal and good association with their hot spot, but could not access most internet sites through their server.
Campground in no longer owned by Encore Resorts. The sites are large and level. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a nice pool and some planned activities (cook-outs, bingo, etc.). There are several derelict RVs on the premises that are probably left from the 2005 hurricanes. All in all, not a bad place even if pricey and 20 miles from Key West.
Interstate 40 runs right along edge of campground and is NOISY! Many sites are not level. The first site we were in sloped too much for our jacks to achieve level status. We moved to another site and were able to level but had a big first step to get in our motor home. Lots of permanent campers, but they are not a problem. Good security and friendly office staff. Office computer is only way to check E-mail.
Roads, trees and sites are poorly maintained. Office is unmanned -- self check-in. Security is questionable -- a guard drives through periodically. Campground is difficult to get into and even more difficult to get out of.
Very Nice! One of the best RV parks we've ever stayed in. First class facilities. Long, level sites. Good signage -- easy to find. Far enough from Interstate to be quiet. Office staff was friendly and helpful.
Outstanding campground! Large level lots with lots of privacy. Most have beautiful views of lake. Staff is friendly and helpful. We have stayed here twice. Only drawback is 4PM checkout and 5 PM check-in. We had to wait for our site to be vacate on last visit. Staff found us a place to park where we could hook up and wait in comfort.
Mostly full-time residents. Sites are level but close together. Some sites have obstructions (fire hydrants, Power Transformers, etc) that make them difficult to get into. $6 per day extra for cable tv.
A very nice campground. Manager brought hor d'oerves to our RV before supper. Also, he offered to call the grocery store and ask it to sty open if we needed anything. Large, level pull throughs. Quiet -- away from interstate
If you have pets -- GO ELSEWHERE. The pet restrictions here are insulting to responsible pet owners and totally lack understanding of dogs. The "pet areas" are extremely unsanitary and smelly. The management and permanent residents are unfriendly to dogs. The park is very nice except for its pet policy.
