Came here due to previous recommendations on this site. Somebody is confused. At first, we were allowed to check out 3 different sites by the lake. When we did, all 3 were occupied (to which the clerk expressed surprise!). Because they were taken, and by the way extremely tight and uncomfortably close to other campers, we chose to spend our one night in a pull-through far away from office. Small trees, uneven gravel sites and roads, but fine for one night. Not what I expected, but were too time-constrained to seek another campground, so made do. Good bathrooms, but traffic going in and out of the seasonal storage area was heavy and annoying. This has many "member" sites that far outshine those available to ordinary over nighters. Office not open enough hours to provide assistance. Right on major highway, so ingress and egress is not easy at times. Close to shopping. We rated this just average.
Another one to put on your list of good places. Great facility with excellent, but a little limited, buffet. Join the player's club for free and get extra 10 percent off, plus Good Sam. Only drawback was a lack of shade, but in Autumn did not matter. Town of Manistee interesting if a little touristy. Definetly will return if in area.
Good stopover only. Small sites, not much room to stretch or walk pets. Excellent shower facilities. Downgraded due to surly attendant when checking in. Everything written by hand, no computer, which may be part of bad attitude. Casino is non-smoking, (yay!), but buffet real expensive for what you get. Not bad if you just need a place for the night. Somewhat expensive for end product, (no sewer at site).
One of the good ones. Wide, spacious back-ins (and a few pull-throughs) all over the campground, some with full hook-ups, most just have electric. Some terrific views of lake available. Most sites are tree-shaded. Friendly attendants. Golf course and restaurant abuts campground. Good, clean, and family-friendly.
Across the street from the main entrance is what they call the "long term use" campground, about half pull-through and half back-in spaces. During our stay they were much less crowded than main area next to lake. Very quiet and tree-shaded, with wide paved spaces. Bathroom was clean, but single shower on both gender sides ran out of hot water after two consecutive uses. If you do not care about lake views, this is the place to camp. Attendants very friendly and entire campground is clean and attractive.
This is one of the best in the Missouri system. Excellent bathroom/showers, both men and women. Friendly staff, nice parking spots, scenic views of lake and plenty of wildlife. Quiet and peaceful visit; will return again.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Campground well laid-out, easy in and out. Great restrooms and showers. Severe thunderstorm happened during our stay, power went out for a while, but everythhing back to normal when storm passed. Good pet area. Highly recomment if travelling on I-29.
We camped here in late May, so maybe campground was not up to full speed yet. Looked sort of run-down and could tell it was a converted KOA. The women's bathroom needed good scrubbing. The men's was ok. Our sight had inadequate gravel, too many weeds, and the hookups required extensions on power, water and sewer. Friendly staff, but overall, sort of a disappointment. Enjoyed the turkeys!
This is a good one. Joining the casino club gives you savings on fee. There are two areas. We camped in the new one and had a pull through. Extremely well thought out and executed layout. Sort of in the middle of nowhere, but the campground and casino is well worth the effort to find. Only drawback is lack of shade, but this far north only matters during middle of summer. Highly recommend.
