Nice little RV park located a stones throw from the Natchez Trace in a rural setting. The sites are narrow but long enough so that we didn't have to unhook the tow. We also got a level enough site so that we didn't have to bother with the levelers. Check in was fine and friendly enough. The restaurant next to the park was not open at this time. The laundry facilities were nice with reasonable honor system charges. The bathrooms were different and it was like two bathrooms side by side in someones home. But they worked and were clean enough. The property is very pretty with two fishing ponds on it. We saw someone fishing and he was catching them! Weak Verizon signal, but I was still able to use my phone and my computer. A good place to stop while touring the Natchez Trace Parkway. Bear in mind that this park does not accept credit cards. We would stay here again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ponchartrain Landing. Check in was friendly, fast and informative. We were given lots of information about the area, local tours and the shuttle service the park offered. It was pouring rain and the afternoon we arrived so we opted to stay right there and enjoy the bar. The bar was nice, offering food (primarily reheated burgers and pizza) and live entertainment a few times a week. The shuttle service was great, taking tourists to and from the city at 10:00 AM, 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM Never used the bathrooms so I can't comment on the facilities. The sites were a bit tight with zero shade and the small, sharp stones made it hard to walk, even with shoes on. My dogs feet wound up swollen from having to walk on the stones to the dog park at the entrance. Other than that, it was a great stay and we will definitely be back.
Great location for local touring with a very friendly and helpful host. We had a few branches that were in danger of scraping the side of our unit and the manager came over immediately and cut them down. Good, clean laundry facility and a nice recreation room. Smaller sites with small picnic tables, but we were gone all day so the size of the site mattered little to us as long as we could put our slides out. We'd definitely stay there again.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Spot Campground. A previous review reported that there was dog droppings all over. We found that not to be the case. Rather, it is goose droppings from the geese that live near the pond. This is a very pretty, peaceful campground that is on a pond/marsh area. You can fish in the pond or just sit outside and observe wildlife. Its a perfect location for visiting Laura Ingalls Wilder sites. The owner is friendly and accommodating. Your very first impression might not be positive, but this is a nice campground. We would stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at this park. Good things were as follows: very friendly and knowledgable office staff, park was clean with concrete slabs, nice fellow campers, pretty location, good Mexican restaurant a stones throw away, handy shuttle service to town, and a very clean, well equipped laundry room. The only con: (and this is not the fault of the park), is that the bridge was out at the time we camped here and it was a loooonng drive to the town of Branson. Would we stay here again? Probably, but we also went into another RV park right in the town of Branson and would look into staying there next time. Check out the fish hatchery while in Branson. Its free and it has awesome views of the dam. Fun to feed the fish too!
