Found in AAA book. Very ruined down. Many older trailers with leanto shed attachments that have seen better days. Office staff tired but friendly. Fairly well stocked store (had ice cream) OK for overnight stop for hookup, stay the night then leave. Wouldn't want to stay more then that.
Drove thru, and did not stay. Dumpy!! Woodall gives it a three diamond rating! Lots of older seasonal trailers. No sewer in an open lot with campers close to each other. Run down. Would not, did not stay.
Mostly seasonal with a few sites for transients. Not owner managed. Manager friendly. Seasonals friendly. Clean campground. Clean pool. Nice view of lake. Train stop within walking distance to Chicago about 1 1/2 hours ride away. Hear trains at night. Mainly for adults but children welcomed. Would camp here again.
Staff family operators. Friendly. Campground clean. Bathrooms old but clean. Sites very close. Stayed only one night. Did not notice where the rec. hall was. Was there during the week so don't know about activities. Many happy seasonal campers there. Very friendly towards visitors from the USA. Would go there again. Town of Jordan quaint.
Mainly a seasonal campground for retirees, but children welcomed. Seasonal campers and managers very friendly. There are some very nice sites set aside for transient campers with full hook-up and cable, a cement patio and great view of Lake Ontario. Made to feel very welcomed by everyone we met there. Rest rooms clean. Campground clean. Pleasant find in the Woodall Camp Book. No planned activities. Would go back there if in the area.
Staff not too friendly, acted as though we were an infringement on their time. Hard to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature due to several barking dogs. Not as buggy as I thought it would be. Children able to ride their bikes around the area. Rest rooms old and ready for cleaning after everyone did their morning cleaning rituals. Would stay again. Not bad for a State park. Had 30 amp. service and spigots available for water.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Campground clean. Very nice rec. hall and pool area. Seasonal areas nice. Lake choked with lily pads, doubt much boating can be had. Not enough rain this season. Pretty pond. Very nice playground. Need sign right at entrance to Lake Drive, easy to miss and drive by. Beautiful Koi pond. Nice landscaping. Will definitely return here.
Very clean. Sites level. Not enough staff on duty for campground of this size. Not always someone at the office. Comcast Cable very basic. Seasonal campers hit with huge real estate tax from Town of Hinsdale, several hundreds of dollars each family. Many seasonal campers leaving end of this year due to excessive tax. Owners do not live on campground. Manager lives out of state. Activities for children sporadic. Same DJ year after year for all major holiday weekends, plays same music. Kids like him, most adults stay away. Recreation Hall too fancy for a campground so locked most of the time cutting access for adults to use pool table or play ping pong. Limited time children can use the arcade. Pool clean. Age changed to over 12 during the week so the manager's child can use the pool with friends, otherwise children have to be over 16 or with an adult. Not acceptable for teens that are 14 or 15 and should be able to use the pool without adult supervision. ATV owners can use the facility after being registered either in VT or NH if camping here. With better management could be a very nice place.
