This is a fairly large park, with lots of "perm" residents. However, that being said, it is very well maintained. The gravel site was fairly level, water pressure was decent. Cable television and Wi-Fi worked well. (Wi-Fi costs extra). They also have a nice pool, and friendly staff. It would be OK for an extended stay but if we return, we will likely look for something more "campy".
This is a small park, in an odd location (almost directly under I-35. It's somewhat cramped, but we were able to get into our spot fairly easily. The staff was helpful, and the concrete sites are very nice. You can hear the highway noise outside, but inside with the AC on you can't hear it at all. The river is very nice, and accessible. The cable television and Wi-Fi worked great. We would definitely stay here again!
Great Place! We made our reservation over the phone without any deposit required. We arrived about 10 minutes after normal closing time. The manager waited for us to arrive, then showed us to our site. The sites are gravel, with grass in between. Very little leveling was required. The water pressure was very good, and the Wi-Fi worked very well. It was a nice campsite, and very convenient to I-10, although we noticed very little highway noise. There are restaurants, and a grocery store nearby. We would definitely recommend this campground, and will certainly stay here again if we are ever in the area.
We arrived on a Friday, and spent 30 minutes in line to get checked in (with reservations). However, the staff was courteous. The campground is nice, and sites are spaced well for privacy, typical for Texas State Parks. It's very green this time of year. The description says lighted fishing piers, but the one in the back wasn't lit at all. Not sure about the one near the arena. The wireless Internet is only available at the the office, so don't plan on any access from your camper. The bathrooms are very clean, and there are some nice lake views. It was convenient to Arlington, and we drove over for a Rangers game. We would stay here again.
