I just loved this park! It was in a rustic setting, with a pretty lake (good fishing and swimming) that had a sand beach and rental non=motorized boats. The sites on the side far from the interstate were much nicer: quieter, and more wooded. I wouldn't have enjoyed the side next to I-295. We were in site 12, which was lovely. We had a large grassy area behind the site to put chairs right beside the lake. Many of the sites are farther apart to allow for the trees. We didn't swim or use the rec hall, laundry, etc., so I can't vouch for those, but to sit and enjoy the sun and breeze, you couldn't ask for much more.
This is definitely a nice resort, with all large RVs and motor coaches. The setting is very nice, but there is not much around it, as far as restaurants, although there is a Wal-Mart, Lowe's', etc. All the sites are completely paved, and in the back they are heavily wooded. In the front, they are not. You can also reserve sites with a RV-port for $10 more. There is a golf course, many canals and small lakes, full activities, pools, post office, restaurant, etc. These sites are owned, so you rent through the pool, and due to that, folks are a little stand-offish. I'd definitely go again, and ask for a site in the back.
We were disappointed when we arrived, because it is almost all park models, with a few RV sites scattered about. We did discover an all RV section, which would have been nicer. However, after looking around at everything in the area, this is the nicest (with the exception of one amazing park near Anna Maria Island). The park models are all in excellent condition and well maintained and attractive. The sites were not paved, but the parking for your car and your patio were paved. None of the other parks in the area have that. Once you get over how close together they all are, and how narrow most of the roads are, you begin to enjoy it. Clubhouse is very nice, as is the pool. The river setting is pleasant, and the island with walking trails gives a little plus to it, also. Also, it's near Wal-Mart, Lowe's, restaurants, and I-75.
