Fantastic Campground. The only reason I do not give it a 10 is because the mosquitoes were so bad we could not sit outside but we were only here for one night on our way to New England. Very clean, spacious well groomed sites, level, easy hook up. Nice shade trees. Great staff! Best Wi-Fi of any campground I have ever been in.
Be aware. No credit cards. Cash or personal check - no problem with us. Great Campground for Big Rigs! We were disappointed we could not get one of the nice pull-thru's but a Newell Coach Club had them reserved (18 Coaches). It was very interesting and entertaining to see these multimillion dollar Motor homes. We had a easy to park back-in. Level gravel - only negative is the Wi-Fi is weak. Booth Bay harbor is a short distance and there is a guy close by that will cook lobsters and bring them to you. Lots of amenities.
We were camping at Crown Point in Strafford however we had a problem with our landing gear so we went to Camping World at Chichester to get repairs. CW could not see us until the next morning so they recommended Great Meadows just down the street. The office is so full of cigarette smoke you can hardly breathe and the lady told me "Cash Only" - $38. My pull thru sight she gave me was so narrow it took me several attempts to finally get parked. Because of the landing gear problem we could not disconnect from the truck. I took my dog for a walk around the campground - very rough roads, a few good back in sights but most were either seasonal or very rough. Dog droppings everywhere! Cable TV did not work - WiFi didn't either. Will never stay here again
We really enjoyed our campsite - about 65% are seasonal but our site was somewhat secluded in a corner and it was an easy back-in. Nice shade. Did have to level one side with boards with little effort. Wife did laundry and it was clean and efficient. We stayed 5 nights and would stay again. Great staff!
This was an overnight stop on our way to New England. The sites for 50 amp are in the back on a hill. The 50 amp sites are about 70% seasonal. It took a little maneuvering to get it but, was OK. Weak WiFi - Cable TV was good. Little pricy for what you get. Would probably not stay here again.
Be aware there are a few "surcharges" in addition to rates but it is all stated ahead. I listed $54 a night because there is an additional $10 added to the rate and $5 for a pet and an additional $10 a person for guest. All of this is on the Website so there is no surprise. We were there 5 nights and it rained most of the time - not the campsites fault. There is no pavement and there was a lot of mud. The water went out twice due to people running into water spigots. Interesting. This appears to be an older campground - the back in for our 40' RV was very tight. There are nice wooden decks next to the site but, when you run out the slides it takes up most of the deck. Most sites are not level. There are concrete pads to park your rig on but, they are more suited to shorter rigs without slide outs. As always we met a lot of nice people. We rated it OK but will most likely not return.
This is a small campground but, very neat. Our campsite only had 30 amp service and it required some additional leveling with boards we always carry but it worked out nice. Everything worked out and we stayed an extra day. Fish pond was fun but, it is catch and release. Good staff, we would stay here again if the occasion arises. Dumpsters are not on site. It's a pretty good ways to grocery and supply stores.
This was our first stay at Mama Gertie's but thanks to other reviews on this site we choose it over others in the area. We have a 40' Big Horn 5th wheel and pulling the rig to the very top area, where our site was, is not for the faint of heart, but it was really easy. We were rewarded with a beautiful site with an astounding view! This area is new with packed gravel, very level, all full hookups, and clean. Only new trees at this time. Great staff! Slow internet, good facilities - grade them A! Look forward to going back-
