This is a nice park with friendly staff (Family ?) Unusual traffic pattern. NOT handicapped friendly. In fact it is handicapped hostile. No access to rest rooms, showers, not even the office. All the good sites are taken up by seasonable s leaving travelers with NO sewer hook-up. Pump out is only $6.
They may not have a pool but there is a LARGE lake just for swimming and another just for fishing. Large level sites and most are away from the seasonables, some of which look really dumpy. Friendly staff. Better then average RV supplies. All and all a very nice park for overnight or longer. The rate of $20 is for Passport of America members. There's a K-Mart and a fairly nice restaurant, Beer and Beer, nearby.
Main reason for writing is: This park will NOT, repeat NOT, be open in 2011, because it will become the staging area for the ferry which will operate while the bridge, right next to this park, is being enlarged. It will take at least 18 months to complete that project. At this time, it is not known if this park will reopen after that. I suggest calling just in case things change.
One of the nicest campgrounds you can find. Great staff, well kept, level sites, super hook-ups with lots of power, and interesting view of the Mississippi River ship traffic. 80 acres of park like setting with lots of grass, 2 ponds, and walking paths. We hope to come back many times!
Super helpful Rangers and Park Attendants. Every thing well maintained and clean. Fantastic view of the Arkansas river, lock, and dam/bridge. We would love to come back and stay as long as the rules allow.
Very unfriendly RV Park. More ridiculous rules than the Army; and that's how they run the place. The absolute worst part of this park are the many diagonal speed bumps and the restrictions on "large" dogs. Before going back to that park I would go to a Wal-mart parking lot, some thing I have never done before.
