Very crowded and overrun with ill-mannered children. We have three children of our own so it's not like we have any dislike of children. Even our children were put off by the obnoxious behavior of the mostly seasonal campers. The entire park was noisy, rowdy, and unmanaged. We were actually appalled at the behavior of the campers. The campsites were very close and the proximity of our neighbor's firepit to our slideout was about 6 inches. Needless to say we left there with a large black smoke stain on our slideout. Gray water runs through the campsites and is not drained properly. Transient campers are not welcomed by the campers or the owners. We would not recommend this campground, and we will not revisit.
Mostly seasonal campers, but the sites closest to the entrance are great for transient campers. Owners, as well as seasonal campers, are very friendly. Once a year our family rents six sites for a long weekend and we always have a good time. Close to Lake Champlain and New York State. We will revisit.
Family-friendly park with a lot of activities. Clean and well-maintained. Excellent staff. Some sites are small, but for the most part there are all sizes and types of sites available if you reserve in advance. Mosquitos have been a problem in the past, but the staff does an amazing job at trying to keep the little critters at bay. We will revisit this park.
Apple Tree is a clean campground that feels like it is changing over to an all-adult park with mostly seasonal sites available. Transient campers often feel like outcasts amongst the regulars. Most of the children are visitors to their grandparents summer home. The location is very nice and is very convenient to beautiful Lake Champlain. I would recommend this campground to campers looking for a semi-permanent summer home. I would not recommend this campground to campers with children. We will not revisit as our children did not feel welcome.
Our family loves this campground! We have always had a good time and felt very comfortable here. There are a lot of activities for the entire family and they are well-planned. While there are a lot of sites and a lot of activity, it is not loud or unruly. The park is clean and well maintained and the owners and staff are courteous and helpful. If you are looking for a great family park, Lonepine is a must-see. We will continue to visit this campground as often as possible.
