Very nice secluded campground with very nice staff. Almost all of the sites are shaded. We were visiting Monticello - about 8 miles from the park. The lightening bugs were beautiful at night and it was very quiet. We did make a mistake by coming into the park on Old Lynchburg Road. Make sure you follow their directions. We would definitely stay here again.
The park is very spacious and clean. If you are not a county resident, the park is very expensive. Easy to get to considering the traffic in the Washington area. Brand new bath house with restrooms. Water is available at a faucet at the camp host site. We stayed 4 nights including a weekend. Park was almost empty on weekdays and full of several big rigs, fifth wheels but mostly tent campers and Boy Scouts on the weekend. Everybody had fires and it was smoky. Nice hiking paths. We would stay here again if we have business in the area.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. For a new 5th wheel owner, the narrow, hilly, winding road through a neighborhood was a little intimidating. It looks like they are making some improvements to the interior roads by paving them.Very hilly inside the park and rough at the exit. Our stay was fairly quiet although we could here the traffic from the highway. The sites are very tight - we were almost touching the picnic table in the site next to us when we let out our slides. Could not get the Wi-Fi to connect. We were in a 50 amp pull-through site with full hookups - it was level. The park was clean overall and we did not use any of the facilities.
