We camp here every fall and spring on our way to and from NC. We have a 40' motor home and we tow a jeep wrangler so when we overnight here we don't unhook and have never had a problem getting in and out. We plan on a longer stay once we retire and aren't in a hurry to get where we're going. We've walked the trails down to the lake and loved the fall colors and the spring dogwoods.
This is the nicest campground we've stayed in since Petosky, MI in 2001. As others have said, very clean rest rooms and laundry facilities. Nice deck bar and beautiful views of Lake Norman from everywhere in the campground. Fast check-in, nice golf cart tour with the owner. Very safe feeling during the week we spent there. It was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed watching the sunsets from our motorhome and sitting on the patio after sunset. We will be back -- maybe to help celebrate the 1 year anniversary in July. Good luck to the people who brought this lovely place into existence last July.
The campsite we were in was large and private with lots of mature trees. The newer area was open with small trees and little shade. We were there during a tornado watch and the park rangers were great in letting us know what to do and where to go. There are two big draws for this campground -- the 7 mile bike path through a prairie and the 1920's era farm. There are also nice hiking paths. Great place for a quiet camping experience.
