Ditto on bringing a water pressure regulator. And beware: most of the sites are uneven and there is no privacy (especially in Coastal Village and Whale areas). While the comfort stations are still large, they are not nearly as clean/nice as when the previous owners maintained them. Certainly family friendly, though everything from breakfast to the store items were pricey. The park staff was plentiful, friendly and helpful.
Maintenance staff was very helpful and friendly. Facilities are large and clean. It is the little things that keep this from a 10: no picnic tables, check-in staff was aloof especially as we were not interested in buying a site, etc. We'd stay again: even though we are not golfers.
This is the nicest KOA we have stayed at. The staff really tries to keep things clean and everyone happy. Our spot (#4) was large, level and shaded. The only thing keeping it from a 10 - is the internet fee, lack of facilities including bathroom, trash and recycle when the park is full. Stay here again in a heartbeat.
We stayed here during KOA Kamping weekend. The main bathrooms (3 stalls in the women) are at the pool - so they are always wet and dirty during hot weather. It was particularly unsafe and unsanitary this weekend as they were never cleaned. While the check-in staff was friendly and helpful and some staff truly worked hard to pull off kids activities, during the potluck - it was the staff that sat in the only shade. I contacted the management prior to leaving and post-trip - they never responded. I would not recommend.
Fabulous location and terrific staff. They went out of their way at check in to make sure everyone got settled and I was very impressed with how the staff helped anyone with special needs. We have a 36' fifth wheel and we talked to the staff prior to our arrival about the trees and drive - they alleviated our fears and we had no problem. The Asti shortcut was still closed. My only issue is that both bathrooms were clean on Friday but were not cleaned all weekend. It was so bad that by Sunday I ended up having to navigate the 6 miles to town so I could take my in-laws to the McDonald's bathrooms. I would return in an instant if I could insure that no one in my party had to use the restrooms. I did contact the staff during and post trip about the bathrooms but no response. If it were not for the bathrooms - this would be a 10.
For a state park and stay along Hwy 101 near King City whether to use as a stopover or day trip to the Pinnacles - it was a better than expected. In March - the park was not even a third full -and we had our choice of sites. The bathrooms were clean and stocked all weekend.
Camped here in February even enduring the mud. The staff was wonderful - very helpful at making sure the sites were ready and helping everyone get situated. When a fellow camper clipped their Airstream door handle, the staff worked to remedy the problem. The bathrooms though old were checked and cleaned what seemed to be every hour. Definitely would return.
