This park is off of I-80 and you can hear road noise, however the park is clean and very well kept. The owners were friendly and helpful. Not all sites have fire pits, which was a little disappointing. The restroom and shower facilities were new and very clean! All sites were gravel pull-through which was good for a one-night stay. We would definitely stay here again, although it is best for a stop-over stay.
We camped here as a stop-over on our way to Colorado. We had a gravel pull-through site and there wasn't much room on either side of us. If we had put out our awning, it would have stretched to our neighbor's site. We arrived at 8:30 p.m. after the main office had already closed and we ended up having some problems with out trailer. Our neighbors on the site next to us were extremely helpful to us, but the KOA staff was no where to be found and the next morning when we inquired about repair places, they were not very knowledgeable. The restrooms were clean, although all doors had a locking mechanism on them and you needed to punch in an access code to open the doors. This seemed over-protective to us. The campground was close to I-80, although the noise did not bother us.
The park was clean and well kept. We appreciated the lush green grass and trees. All sites seemed able to accommodate larger campers. The sites also had good sized fire pits. The bathroom facilities were clean, however the facilities were older and there was not a lot of air flow through the buildings so they were hot and stuffy. We would camp here again.
We decided to stay here due to the lower prices. We had researched the campground via their website, which is very nice, and called the campground directly and were assured that it was a beautiful place to camp and clean. The restrooms were advertised as "new and clean". We were sorely disappointed when we arrived and the bath house roofs were caving in and doors hanging off the hinges. The showers had mold in them. We complained and were given a lot of hassle - we found the staff very unfriendly and unwilling to help. When we complained about the mold in the showers, we were told that it was impossible because the staff had "just painted over all the mold". We left the campground after one night and fought for a refund, due to false advertising, which we eventually received. The sites were also very overgrown.
We stayed at this KOA based on a friend's recommendation and were not disappointed! We were close to everything in the White Mountains and the KOA facilities were wonderful! The natural surroundings were great and we really enjoyed the camp hosts. The restrooms and showers were updated and clean. The laundry area was also clean and stocked with information on area activities!
We stayed at this park to be close to Cuyahoga National Park. We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of this park and the activities that it offered! The restrooms were new and very clean! The sites were large and accommodating. The park was a distance from Cuyahoga National Park, but we will definitely stay here again - it is a gem!
We stayed at the Bar Harbor KOA and were thrilled with the service and the location! We stayed here after a terrible experience at a different campground and were welcomed with open arms. Staff were friendly and accommodating and helped us with everything we needed. We thought the rates were a little high at first, but it was well worth it! The restrooms and showers were very clean and we will definitely go back here when we visit Acadia National Park again!
