Very over priced. The only reason we stay here is because it's close to relatives. Nothing much to do at the campground, has a small pool and a small playground, but thats it. We come here every other year. Next year its back to Hagerstown, Md. at Y B Campground for more fun and cheaper.
We stayed here after Labor day and had the place all to ourselves and the racoons. There are a lot of things to see in the area as the last post said. Also there is Fort Nessisity and not far away is the 911 site outside Somerset. Can't wait to come back again.
Had a fantastic weekend here with the Campfire Cafe Crew, teaching us how to cook in cast iron pots and over an open fire. The weather in the area had been dry for a few weeks and Saturday was warm and dry too, but Sat night Mother Nature opened up and rained late in the evening. We camped by the creek and lots of water rushed by and left some gullies as it went toward the creek but we weathered it ok and the staff was on top of everything Sunday all day cleaning up. The restrooms and showers were very clean even Sunday. There is a narrow road that enters the camp but I saw big rigs come and go. My wife and I are looking forward to camping here again. We'll be the ones cooking on the open fire asking Ya'll Eat Yet?
We've been here several times, with and without the grandkids and everytime was great. The kids loved paddle boating on the lake and I enjoyed fishing even though it was a little extra. We found the sites on the loop in the back to be the larger sites and during the week its more secluded. The campground is only about 30 mins from the Flight 93 crash site. Looking forward to camping here again in the near future.
Every June we come back here for a family reunion. All of us stay in the lower area near the creek. A lot of us come from out of state and probably should buy a fishing licence, but I'm not sure anyone has. The road to get to the campground does get my heart pumping when we get near because of a few narrow turns but haven't seen or heard about anyone have any misshaps. The only problem we have is the lower area has only 20 amp service, so our air conditioning won't work. but its well shaded haven't really needed it yet. I also did a nearby search on the internet and found a man that delivered to my site a quarter cord of wood at a reasonable price. Looking forward to camping here again next year.
Whenever we come to Gettysburg we stay here. We like staying in the lower area maybe because is seems more quiet in the evenings. Just down the road about 5 mins. are the museums and 10 mins. in the other direction is Walmart and other stores. There isn't a lot of activities for young kids but the pool is nice. We plan on coming back here in the fall.
My Wife and I wanted to camp with friends of ours, and picked a halfway point and found this campground. All of us enjoyed our stay. The restrooms were clean even though the the park was almost full. Store was stocked very well and the Staff was nice and helpful. Outdoor movie area and snackbar were great. Yes there were a lot of go-carts used by the seasonal campers all were courteous and as evening came they were hardly noticable. We've already planned a weekend for the fall and can't wait to come back.
We just got back from a very nice weekend. We camped in the pop-up area where all the sites have cement slabs making them very level but some sites have bigger drop from the slab to the ground making them more prone to tripping then a need for bandades. The entire staff was friendly. It's so nice to have firewood delivered to the site and trash pickup at least 4 times a day. The shuttle service to Kings Dominion Amusement Park ran about every half hour. The first day we just missed the shuttle but didn't mind the cool wait in the game room till the next one showed up. The life guards were great, making sure no floatation was used with the exception of the free use of the pools life jacket. We camped here 4 nights with 2 grand daughters. We plan on coming back next year with 4 grand kids.
