Best State Park we've ever stayed. Restrooms are immaculate. Loop A is the best for RV'ers with level sites, excellent hookups, fire rings, grill, and large picnic tables. We stayed in site 7 (across from restrooms) & site 9. Eagle tour is a nice boat ride. Its about 15-20 minutes to Hot Springs. Ice and firewood are available at the Visitors Center.
Not a destination spot but its great for an overnight. Friendly lady runs the office, nice pool for the kids and small enough park for them to ride bikes as hardly any traffic. Looks like they have a few extended stay people but it's a clean park. Two gas stations nearby. Note, the truck stop diner isn't worth the $$$ and its the only thing close. We'd stay here again (and eat a sandwich in the RV).
The road to the park was small and went through a quaint housing addition. There were low hanging wires but they weren't a problem. The park roads were tight for big rigs and they should really trim up the trees. Shady sites were on a hill but we were ok in our 38ft 5th wheel with 4 slides. It rained hard during our stay but we were ok on the hill. If in the area, we'd stay here again. The Staff was nice. There is a small pool with a slide was nice for the kids.
Nice campground. Big rig friendly with pull-throughs. Nice wooded area for smaller RVs. Pool is large and cold. Large areas for the kids to play and ride bikes (helmets required). Close to town and all the Battlefields and Memorials. The park managers are very friendly and willing to pass on info about the area.
This is not a destination RV park. Just a decent place to stay for an overnight. Its a little hard to find. We were westbound and saw the highway sign just in time as we were beat. Pool looked nice if we hadn't been so tired. Sites are level and higher than the road so safe in heavy rains. We'd stay here again.
Loved this park! Nice landscaping and plenty of room. Mostly back-in sites at the creek. Perfect location for Gatlinburg activities. City Trolley stops at the park entrance. Grocery store close by. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice facilities. Pretty location central to most everything in the Black Hills. We stayed in Base camp for the pull through and TV hookup. Drove around Ranch Camp but the road is a little rough and for smaller tents & trailers. Otherwise, well maintained. We'd probably choose the Main Camp on next visit as its close to the showers & laundry with full hookups and plenty of shade.
Per previous review, nice level gravel, easy in & out access, short walk to Wall Drug. Picnic table at each site. Pool Heater was not working but in process of being corrected. Very nice staff. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
Nice, clean park near a baseball field. Plenty of room to back your rig. Park has a nice lake to stroll around. Could be warm in summer as there were no shade trees. Excellent, safe overnight stop. We would stay here again.
Located on east side of town. Tight right turn entering the park. Website says they have electric and water but we only saw one water spigot in the center of the park. Electric at all sites. Nice stop and well maintained for overnight stop. Sites are free. We would have donated $$$ but didn't see a drop box. We would stay here again.
Nice, quiet State Park for family. Small fishing and swimming lake (100 acres) with nice hiking trails. Close to Dinosaur Valley State Park. No park store at the moment pickup ice and supplies in town as you're 20-30minutes away from nearest store. North Creek section has the best level sites
Sites on the lake are premium and much nicer. We stayed at Area 1 Cedar Point site 11. Sites aren't level and ground is badly eroded. Our site was on the end of the row with a little more elbow room and shaded. I was very shocked to see how deteriorated the campsites were since we last visited 10yrs ago. Restrooms were very clean, showers nice but building was very warm (no turbine to draw out the heat). Swimming area is nice, sandy bottom. Kids loved diving and jumping off dive platform. You can rent canoes and paddle boats.
Decent city park for an overnight or couple days. Approximately, half the sites are pull thru. Restrooms are across the park. Honor system to pay. Sites are fairly level under pecan trees. Only reason for low rating is that the roads need re-paving, clear the pecan limbs and electric boxes/water faucets are past time for replacing. Everything works, just need updates. Has a dump station. It seems the local gas field workers have found this location to stay in their RV's.
