A GREAT State Park. Sites are spacious with lots of shade. Staff is VERY friendly. Great place to camp if going to visit Holiday World which is 5 minutes away. Very Peaceful setting next to Lake Lincoln. Many sites are NOT Level, in fact most sites are not level so be prepared to do a little work trying to get level, bring lots of leveling boards. Also some sites the water hook up is quite a distance away so have a extra hose just in case. We didn't use the showers but noticed they were cleaned very through every morning by a friendly staff. We bought firewood at the grocery store in Santa Claus as it was less expensive and larger bundles than at the camp store. Their web site accurately described the campsite we reserved on-line. We highly recommend this campground that is very affordable and a real campground feel We stayed four enjoyable days.
No one at available for check in at 5:30PM arrival. A employee was later located and advised us to find a spot and check-in in the morning. Camp is in serious need of maintenance. Probably was a "Gem" in by-gone days. Several board-walks and stairway need repair or replaced as the wood has rotted. Security gate not working and appears to have been that way for a long time. Water quality is terrible, foul odor and taste and pressure was low. Nice area of Michigan, only 16 miles to St. Joseph which is worth the trip. Could become a very nice place again if some time, effort and money invested. (Seems to be a issue with the Thousand Trails organization, not investing in their properties.) I may visit again because the area is so nice, but will take plenty of bottled water.
This park is about 1 hour east of Niagara Falls and 15 minutes from Rochester New York. Located right off I-90. We stopped here after a long day's drive en route to the Northeast. The pull through site are all grass with full hook ups. Didn't get out of the RV to check anything out as it was just a overnighter for us. I would recommend this park for a overnighter only. The pull through site which is apparently the only place they put overnighters is close to I-90 and you can hear the road noise if you are outside. It did not disturb us inside the RV. The rates were very affordable and I plan to use this same campground on the way back home.
Great host . Very friendly staff. Far enough away from the hustle & bustle of Lake Placid to enjoy peace & quiet but close enough to go to town if you wanted to. I believe every site was shaded. The staff was "Johnny-On-The-Spot" in tidying up each site as soon as any one left. Some of the nicest people I have every met run this campground.
This is a great Campground for adults. No fluff here. Families are certainly welcome, it's just that there are not activities to keep children occupied. All sites are spacious and clean. All sites are gravel. No shade of any sort. No rest rooms or showers, you better be self contained. Big rigs will have no problems. Extremely quiet at night. The main reason to stay at this Campground is location, location, location ! It is less than a mile from the busiest Amish town in the region. Friendly , helpful host. Great rates , will stay here every time I come to Amish Country. Campground is not in Millersburg but is in Berlin.
