For what is suppose to be a resort type of campground, I can't give more than a 7. The campground was okay, but many of the sites were not level and small. I felt a little cramped here. The bathrooms were dated, but clean. If you have children, they will enjoy the activities and the pool. Short drive to Mammoth Cave. We would camp here again, but I'd want a site that is bigger with some shade.
This was a nice state park. Ample room on sites. Bath house was dated, but clean. Medium size pool proportionate to the size of the campground. Friendly staff. There were three different camp hosts for different sections of the campground. Cell service from Sprint was poor. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. We camped here four nights. We would stay here again.
We stayed here as guests of a member. We were here 3 nights. Large campground with plenty to do for the kids. We enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in the section by the main pool. It seemed like there was constant vehicle traffic on the loop road we stayed at. Other than that, not much to complain about. We would return.
This is a no frills park. Only a few sites have sewer hookups. The camp store had a good selection of grocery items, along with camping items. For the price we paid, I expect full hookups. Sites are grass with plenty of trees. Not a lot for kids to do though there is a swimming lake and a fishing lake. There is only one bathhouse that has two showers. We camped here in a motorhome.
We stayed here as a non member. The park is decent. Different sections of the park offer open sites or sites with lots of trees. All sites are dirt or gravel and fairly level. The facilities and utilities are dated but seem operational. This is a pick your site park, you drive in, pick a site and register at the office. The pool is a good size and in good condition. Wi-Fi is available at the club house. No cable but a few of the Detroit stations came in clear over the air. Overall, we enjoyed it here. For $30 a night, it is a good value. We will return.
Now this is camping! If you can dry camp, this is the perfect campground. If your purpose is to see the Grand Canyon, this is ideal. Located about 6 miles south of the Grand Canyon entrance. Close to gas and groceries. Large, wooded sites, with lots of privacy.
Very nice campground. Price reflects daily vehicle entrance fee. We stayed in the full hookup sites. Laundry room, clean bath house, beautiful views, hiking, biking, the river, what more to ask for? We would stay here again.
Great state park, loved it. I tend to like rustic settings though. Price reflects daily vehicle entrance fee. This is an electric only campground. Tons of great hiking trails. You could spend days here just hiking. High elevation makes for cool summer camping. We didn't even run the AC for the four nights we were here. We would camp here again.
This campground exceeded my expectations. While I do prefer state and national campgrounds, this one was exceptional. The campground was clean, sites were fairly private and spacious, and peaceful. We will return.
Very busy campground on Lake Huron. Nice "in the woods" feel to the place. Sites had ample room. Paved roads made for good bike riding. Short walk to the beach area. We really liked the beach here. Plenty of room on the beach. Good camp store. Bath houses were cleaned several times a day. We will definitely be back.
This is a large campground. The sites were spacious, has a clean bath houses, good WiFi signal, a man made lake with boat rentals, mini golf, bike rentals, golf cart rentals, basketball court, volleyball, playground for children, nice game room. The pool was heated though a bit small. I found this to be a perfect campground to jog in. The park is huge and jogging around the perimeter is sure to give most a good workout. The camp store with pizza is top notch. The only negatives I have, are the lack of mature trees and the pool being on the small side. Overall we really like it here. We will return.
This is a nice park if you like a more rustic feel. Our rate was for a premium site on a stream with 2 children at $6 a day. We enjoyed our time here. The bathhouse was clean. The pool area was nice. There are hiking trails in the Smokiest behind the campground. We would stay here again.
We camped here over the Memorial Holiday weekend. We were in the East Campground. Older bath house but clean. It is a short walk to the beach at Higgins Lake. We enjoyed our stay there, can't really find anything to complain about. Our site was roomy enough and fairly level. I can't give it more than a 7 based on it being an electric only campground. We would return.
A very clean and well maintained campground. The pool is rather small for the amount of sites they have. There is a very small playground; nice wooded sites and the staff was very friendly. I liked the cafe: with everything from ice cream to pizza served here. We might come back.
This is a very nice campground. The staff was friendly. The sites were spacious. The pool area was clean. The bathrooms were clean. They have the nicest sites I've ever seen: full cement for your rig and a vehicle, along with a cement patio. Also have a very nice basketball court, a nice shuffle board court, good shuffle board court. Now for what I think they need. Add another pool table in the club house. When they add more sites: they'll need another bath house. Another pool would be good if they add another 100 sites or so. I heard talk they were going to add more sites when they finish the 5-acre lake. We will be back.
This is a very clean, well cared for CG. There are two outdoor pools along with a hot tub and one indoor pool with a hot tub. One outdoor pool is for adults only along with both hot tubs. The location is very convenient to the local attractions. The camp store is small. Wireless internet is available but you have to pay a provider $4.95 a day for access. Good amount of cable channels available. Nice basketball hoops. Decent exercise room that cost a dollar a day I believe. We would stay here again.
This is a family oriented CG. Lots of activities for children. Our site was not level. I used 3 1/2 inches of leveling blocks under the front tires and it still wasn't level. Lots of trees, gives you that rustic feel. Nice camp store with ample supplies. Good size pool with a separate kiddie pool. We would stay there again.
This is a very busy park. Our rate reflects 10% rewards card discount. If you have children, they will love it there. Lots of things and activities for children to do. It doesn't seem like the curfew is enforced as there were people running around at midnight screaming. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded park, this isn't it. We would stay here again.
This is a pleasant campground ran by the Free Methodist Church. You do not have to be a church member to stay here. They do a good job at maintaining the facilities. We stayed in a 30' motorhome and had plenty of room. Their private lake offers boat rentals, fishing and swimming. Plenty of trees and the park is big rig friendly. We would stay here again.
Nice, spacious sites, friendly staff, good size pool area. You can rent row boats, paddle boats to use on their private lake. There is fishing on their lake as well. They have one of the nicest camp stores I've ever seen. There is a pizza/ice cream shop in the camp store. I really liked this park and plan on coming back. The only drawback that I could see is the trees are not mature yet.
