We are 3.5 months into a month rv holiday and this was by far the worst park we have stayed in. First of all $42 for no hookups, no view, no privacy and showers that did not work is a liberty! No internet connection, no mobile signal and the beach across the road is terrible. I really cannot fathom why people stay here to be honest as it had no redeeming features whatsoever. I give 1 mark for the friendly welcome from the ranger and 1 for the fact we only booked 1 night thank god!
If you are immune to being bitten then this place is ideal. Only 4 or 5 sites right on the water in a quiet area not for from Cedar Key bars and restaurants. The bugs were awful. The 2nd day we were there we did not go out. The Wi-Fi stopped working for 12 hours before we left which was not great. And when we arrived, we got hooked up and immediately told to move even though the trailer with slideouts was only staying 1 night and had just turned up on spec. We had booked months in advance. The staff were pleasant enough about it, but it bugged me. I would not go back because of the insects.
Park is OK, great for a 1 night stopover. Facilities are numerous but not all of a good quality. Pool and jacuzzi are good but activities are of poor quality such as the golf pool and table tennis. Staff were very friendly. Park was very quiet and we had choice of sites. I would visit again for a stopover but nothing much to do in the area.
The only good thing I can say about this place is the staff are great, very friendly and helpful. It is such a shame because the park layout itself are OK and the club house and pool are OK too but what you cannot get away from are the biting insects and the area. The insects made it absolutely unbearable to go outside, even by the pool for 2 hours I ended up with over 12 bites, out BBQ had to be cancelled too. The area itself is not great, right on the highway with decent shopping close by but it seems a very undesirable area. Could not believe how many snowbirds chose to call it home. I suppose if you are immune to being bitten and you don't leave the park then this place is OK.
Great resort and great location, would definitely return. Right on the beach, and what a gorgeous beach it is; the sand was like talc. No free wi-fi which is a liberty when you are paying good money to stay there and sites are a bit close but apart from that it was perfect
The guy below must have been an awful driver. Yes, the sites are not too big, but there is easily enough room to park a 25 ft trailer. Sounds like the guy just had a bad experience with the druggies and let it cloud his judgement. Great location for the beach and deathly quiet at night. Wi-fi was very in and out. Showers good and laundry, too. Excellent restaurant across the road, an absolute must if you stay here.
Beautiful, beautiful RV park, landscaped to an immaculate standard, restrooms are fantastic, facilities are great and they have a 9 hole par 3 course which is OK but if you are used to playing an 18 hole par 72 course in good condition then you will be underwhelmed. It is geared up for the long term resident rather than a short stay. The park has a calendar of events which is fantastic, from coffee mornings to golf so there is something for everyone and the park staff and guests are incredibly friendly. The reason I gave it an 8 is that you cannot really cycle out from the park to anywhere. It is on a busy road and you really have to take your car to visit anywhere in the area. The other reason is that there is only Wi-Fi in the communal club houses. When you are paying $90 a night that is incredibly disappointing. Would I go back? No but I would recommend it to others.
Very hard campsite to rate. I could give this park anything from a 3 to an 8. First of all the good bits. Location to Key West is fantastic. You will not get closer to Key West at any other campground. Took us 20 mins to cycle in, 15 mins to cycle to the beach. The campground is right next to the bus stop, for $2 each way or $8 a week you can catch the bus into Key West. It takes about 30 mins each way. The worst thing about the campground is noise. The bins are emptied 4 or 5 times a week at 5am in the morning, and the noise is enough to wake the dead. Once awake it is hard to get back to sleep because of the US1 noise and the cockerels. If you are an early riser then this will not be a problem to you. The campground is on Stock Island which can be described as a high price slum area. I have witnessed no problems, but if you like nice surroundings then avoid this place as it is not a pretty area. Restrooms and showers are just about acceptable. Laundry room is good, and lady in the office is friendly enough. Biting insects are prevalent so if you are prone to being bitten then take plenty of precautions. Would I stay here again? No but we visited another park up the road which is $40 more a night and although better, I certainly would not pay $100 to stay there as it is in a poor neighborhood and sites are quite cramped.
We got site 51 which is a great location right on the water. I imagine if you had a more inland site, the mark would be less. No privacy at all, but not really a big deal for us. Sitting by the water is fantastic, watching the sun go down. Owners seem very friendly and the restrooms are the best so far. Great rate of $60
Good park with good facilities, although the rate of $55 was a bit steep. Friendly campers on the site; still to find out why some American RVers dislike sites that French Canadians stay at as I have found them charming and polite so far. Nice little pool and clean showers and restrooms. Would stay again but price should be $40
Wonderful stay. We stayed at the river campground which is a few miles into the park in a beautiful wooded location. The sites are large enough and are semi private with their own BBQ. Great cycle trails with some brilliant off-roading. Super location right on US-1. Would not have liked to stay at the large campground near the road, though; glad we got the river campground with the peace and quiet. Would have got a 10, but the restrooms were not as tip top as they could have been.
Fantastic park, although quite small. Great location, we cycled to Universal which took 30 mins. Staff were friendly enough and the park bins were emptied regularly. Only downsides were the restrooms and showers look a bit tired and need a bit of TLC, the sites were not level, and the park is too small if you enjoy cycling. Would definitely stay here again though; for the price it is unbeatable in the area.
