We have stayed here twice on our trips to Canton's First Monday. The owner is very nice and friendly. The park is brand new, so it's still being developed. No showers or restrooms. The hookups are great, 30/50 amp plus water and sewer at every site. No slabs yet, just open ground parking. Sites are close to level but not as level as a slab. Camp is 6 miles from Canton with wide open spaces. So we like it better than being door-to-door in an in-town park. Will stay here next time we go to Canton.

PROs: Waterfront sites only a few feet from the bulk headed lake. Beautiful views. Slab level and wide. Looks like the park had some strong investment in infrastructure at one time, with concrete parking, boat docks, a nice long fishing pier, boat ramp, club house etc. A couple of covered sites but they were rented to long term tenants. CONs: A whole list. At the core is that there is little maintenance. Whole place has a run down feel to it. Like it was once really nice but now is badly run down. - Grass was mowed but not edged so buildings had 4 ft high weeds growing around them. Playground equipment had tall weeds around it. - Broken beer bottle in breeze way between restrooms that remained during our 3 day visit. Which means the restrooms were not cleaned. - Sewer connection at our site had a broken cap so we could not screw in hose. Looked broken for a long time. So we smelled the sewer when wind was right. - We arrived at 5pm, office closed at 4pm. There was no arrival packet so we had to call the after hours number and wait for someone to show up to open office and tell us site number. There was no map, no instructions about trash or amenities, nothing but a site number. End of fishing pier had some sort of adjustable platform that was broken off and floating in water for a long time. There are no pet cleanup stations. Had to find dumpster on our own, no trash pickup. No laundry that we could find. Had we found a review of the place earlier we would have found a different RV park on the lake.

Get Space #124. It cost a little more, but is well worth it. It overlooks the boat docks and has a great view of the lake. The lake is cold and if the wind is right, you get a nice cool breeze off the water in the evening. We loved our stay here. The whole place is a 10. The staff was friendly and recommended a fishing guide that we loved. We are fairly new to RVing and have stayed in about 10 different parks. Catherine Landing was the best by far. The restrooms are as nice as being at home. It's only a few minutes from all the Hot Springs attractions. They offer boat rentals, but they are pricey. We paid the same amount for a guided fishing tour. Everything was clean and well maintained. They have a really nice laundry room and offices. We will stay here again, next time we are in Hot Springs.

Great park. Sites were all level with good power/water. They have a very large dog run that our dogs loved. Not much shade as the trees were new. Staff was great, very helpful and friendly. We could tell that the staff puts a lot of effort into maintaining the park. Grass was well mowed and park was very clean. They are adding new sites and additional facilities across the street. We saw new workout equipment awaiting install in a new building. Wi-Fi worked OK and they had repeaters around the park to provide good connections. Site is about 15 minutes from some great great BBQ and from Graceland.

This park is Great! It was very well maintained and very clean. We travel with two dogs and they had pet cleanup stations in multiple locations as well as a large dog run area. The site was level concrete with good hookups. The lake is good sized and made the views really pleasant. All the grass was mowed and edged. They have a paved walking path along lake also. The office was well organized. We arrived after hours and there was a complete packet waiting for us with Wi-Fi password, space, and a nice map that was highlighted with directions. They did curbside trash pickup also. It was plain to see that the park staff puts a lot of effort into maintaining the park. We very much enjoyed our stay at this park. We had no complaints at all. The park is bit of a drive from attractions. However, it is centrally located between Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Slidell, which all have nice attractions to visit.
