It's a good KOA. The kids love the playground and the horseshoe pit. It's not completely quiet at night - you can hear road noise. And if you're lucky enough to stay there on trash days, you'll get a dark:thirty wake up call by the trash truck rumbling through the campground to pick up the dumpsters. The place is clean and well kept. They do have a pool but we never stayed there in the summer to find out if it was kept clean.
We really enjoy San Angelo state park. We have been on both the north side and south side of the park. There are pull-through sites on the south side - lots of flat open space, there's always a breeze, and we enjoy watching the birds and the ground squirrels. We've also camped on the north side where there are large trees that provide shade. The park is quiet at night and the park rangers are always friendly and helpful.
