We overnighted while passing through the area. The campground is a hidden gem, directly off the interstate, but secluded and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful, escorted us to our site and later came by to check on us. Sites were level. Facilities were clean and adequate. WiFi was spotty, but not an issue for us. We would camp here again.
This campground is basically an overnight campground. Our site was level, but we saw some that were not. It is close to the interstate, but noise was not a problem. Facilities were clean and adequate. When we arrived at about 2:00pm, the office was closed, but our reservation was in a box next to the door. We would camp here again if we were passing through the area.
Spent two nights after picking up our trailer from a repair shop. The staff was friendly and helpful. Facilities were excellent, clean and well kept. Wi-Fi was adequate. Only negative was that the sites are very close together; our picnic table was within a few feet of our neighbor's sewer. The sites are level, but short, such that RVs and toads are parked parallel to the site roads.
The nightly rate is based on a deluxe cabin w/2 rooms plus shower for 2 adults, 2 kids and a pet for 18 days. Due to mechanical problems w/our RV, we revised our stay from a RV site to a cabin. We can't say enough about the staff. They were very helpful helping us obtain a cabin for the entire 18 day stay. The campground is centrally located for touring the San Juan Islands, Canada, and Cascades NP. Seattle can be easily reached via the Mt. Vernon Amtrak station. The cabin was part of a recent expansion and was new, clean, and reasonably comfortable. WiFi was poor at the cabin, but only because it had not been expanded to reach the new cabins. Elsewhere in the park it was excellent. The facilities were older, but clean and adequate. We would camp here again.
We stayed three nights to tour Durango/Silverton and Mesa Verde NP. Sites are level, but close together. The sites are gravel/dirt so there was some dust; it didn't rain, which could have been a problem. The camp is close to the highway, but traffic noise was minimal. Pizza and breakfast are offered at a reasonable price. Facilities were excellent. We would camp here again.
Spent two nights in order to tour Carlsbad Caverns. Our site was level with a paver patio, concrete picnic table, shaded swing and fire ring. Facilities were excellent except for the laundry which had two dryers out of service. The BBQ take out was good, but pricey and child plates should have been offered. We would camp here again.
Stayed a week during spring break with the grand kids. Rate is based on 2 kids, pet, and cable TV. This was our second year at the park for spring break. Facilities are great for the kids. There is a covered pavilion, river fishing, indoor heated pool, etc. The site is close to local activities and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will camp here again.
We overnighted while en route to south Texas and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were pleasant, helpful, and escorted us to our site. Facilities, pool, office, restroom/showers & laundry, were very good. Food, The Big Texan Steakhouse, and fuel, Pilot, were within 10 minutes. Sites were dirt/gravel, but level. We would camp here again.
We stayed here 6 nights and agree with the previous positives reviews. We stayed in site 43; level with picnic table, fire ring and shade trees. All sites are gravel with rock terraced landscaping. One of the prettiest resorts we have stayed at. It is a minimum 30 min drive to any local attraction, but that was a positive for us as it is in the foothills with good views. Reservations were very good with the staff providing recommendation for local attractions. We will stay here again.
I gave this park a high rating for what it is; an excellent overnight stop. Easy access, wide pull thru level sites, and moderate facilities. We did not experience the problem with train noise as noted by the previous reviewer. The rate included $1.00 for cable and a $3.00 veteran's discount. We would camp here again.
We spent three nights at this park. Rate is for a pull throu site with WiFi and cable; does not include children, pet or visitors. Overall, we were extremely pleased as this was a last minute reservation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were escorted to site C-2, but based on staff recommendation moved to C-6 for more shade. The facilities were in good condition, although the showers were small. WiFi worked very well. Laundry, office, pool, etc., were very clean and in good condition. The only negative is that the sites are a mix of sand and gravel resulting in a somewhat dirty campsite. We would camp here again.
We overnighted as part of a trip to Oklahoma and Colorado. This a very pretty park with a large lake. The pull through sites were asphalt with picnic table and fire ring. Some sites were not level. The rangers were friendly and helpful, allowing us to choose our site and recommending several local restaurants. There is an excellent swimming area within the park, but requires a short hike and water shoes for protection from the rocks. We would camp here again.
The park is family friendly with both a pool and beach access to the lake. A splash area was on site for small children to play in. Wi-Fi and cable were adequate. The park is close to local restaurants. The sites are concrete with picnic table, but very little shade. As others have indicated the sites are not level, as the park is on a sloping grade down to the lake. We would camp here again.
We stayed during Spring Break. The rate is based on 7 days in a Basic Site, 2 adults, 2 children, 1 pet plus cable TV. Overall we had an excellent experience. The kids found plenty to do with other kids, which left time for adult fun. All the facilities were in good shape and reasonably clean. We enjoyed the bar on the premises especially on Friday/Saturday nights. The park is nicely landscaped with Premium Sites having more shade and river views. We will stay here again.
