We love Turkey Run State Park we have stayed at the INN and or camped there as a family for the past 6 or 7 years staying a week every time. This year the suspension bridge was closed which added a lot of distance to the walking trails as the only access is from the far East end of the park. The campground is great be sure to verify the size of the lot with your unit as there are several sites in this park that are tent camping only due to size. The restrooms were OK they were not as clean as they could be and are definitely in need of updating / replacement. The trash dumpsters are close to the entry and can get nasty when the rain washes out the juice and the smell combines with the nearby dump station. Use the dump site on the opposite end of the entry it is in the sun and dries out between uses.
This is a great RV park. It reminds me of camping on a golf course. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the sprinkler system keeps the grass green. There are larger trees on the outside of the park that provide some evening shade especially along the west and north west sides of the park. They have recently revised the water supply for the sprinkler system so there is no longer any iron rich water making new stains. The groundskeeper was in the process of removing the iron deposits from the site sign posts. The owner/manager is there from early morning and we seen him there at pool closing time. The playground is the best one I have ever seen at a campground. There is a soft rubber mat that covers the ground below the equipment it feels like you are walking on a sponge. The duck shaped pool is great. There is a waterfall umbrella in the kids shallow end with the duck's feet being a separate hot tub. The pool felt warm and was heated. The clubhouse would be great for a small gathering separate room for video games, and several coin operated washers and dryers. Camp store located in the office provided those items we often forget. Cable TV, city water and sewer at each site was great. Both 30 and 50 amp RV plugs, plus an extra 15 amp on the pole. I wish you could upload pictures here the ones they provide on the website don't do the facility justice. We will definitely be back. This is the best park we have stayed at in our 3 years of camping!!!
Great park; we stayed in lot 68 which was very private compared to others. Lot was level side to side but on a slight hill from to rear but not a problem at all. Several big rigs on the grounds. Turkey Run State park is great for hiking and canoeing. Will definitely return. State run park so no permanent sites. This was our first time camping; our previous 5 years were spent at the Turkey Run Inn and Cabins which are very nice as well and only a short 20 min hike from the campground or 5 min drive.
Nice park and extremely clean wash house facility. Showers were ceramic tile floor to ceiling and very clean. Sites are on the smaller size but not a problem as the sites around us were not being used. Could use more shade trees. Large rig no problem as there were several 42' and larger motor homes there. No permanent sites. ground very clean and located very close to local attractions. Showers were the best public facility I have ever seen.
