This is a nice, clean park. Gals at front desk were very nice, and accommodating. They knew exactly where to send us to see the sights in Savannah. The park is very well maintained and clean, which is evidenced in the details down to the freshly painted electrical posts. This park would benefit from having some paved pull-through sites; patio sites available. My biggest beef was the sandy sites and having sand tracked into my coach. If they had that, this place would be a 10 of 10.
We have stayed here several times in the past because we had very good, memorable, customer service; not any more. The gal at the front desk was beyond rude. Maintenance guy likes to weed eat near you, hitting you with rocks. When asked to please stop, he just looked at me and turned his back to me. The sites are very unlevel. We were in site 84. The full timers in the very rear of the park bring an unwanted element to the park. The rear park gate was never closed at night, so we didn't feel safe. The park itself is overall clean and well kept, maintained otherwise. Owners didn't seem to be present. Cost value for atmosphere is out of line. We will not be staying here again. We like it and the area, but can't excuse the rudeness and lack of concern for safety that is apparent.
This CG is now known as the North Texas Jellystone. We stayed here in the V-Pod sites, they are very nice and easy to access with our 40' DP pulling a full size crew-cab pickup in tow. Sites are level, concrete, interior roads paved. Overall very nice campground. We did not have a good stay. Four days with an underpowered site due to electrical issues, which they wouldn't fix. We didn't feel like moving since we had a great site (#215) on an end, at the back of the park. Luckily we didn't need the A/C since it was the dead of winter, any warmer and this would have been a major problem. After arguing with maintenance man who didn't know what he was doing, I gave up. We choose this site specifically to be as far from the highway as possible, had very little highway noise. Was offered nothing by management after leaving and disproving it was a problem with our coach.
We overnighted here on our way back from a trip to Texas in our 40' DP pulling a full sized crew-cab pickup. The park was in initially concerned me due to it's location off a tiny little side road that was in very poor condition and had an extreme grade to it. The park itself feels bleak, drab and doesn't have much character. The satellite TV we paid for didn't work, and since the office was in winter hours, I couldn't get it fixed by the time we were done setting up. Beware you have to run a cable out your window directly to it, in most cases. The interior roads were in fair condition, the sites were gravel and extremely un-level. Our site required full extension of the rear jacks to get close to level. This seemed to be the case for many as I looked around and saw similar extension, blocking, board pile-ups on other rigs. Many extended use, residents living here, thankfully everything seemed to be kept clean and orderly.
We stayed here as an overnight on our way to and from Texas. It just so happened to be the weekend they had the big snowstorm in January 2013 and we got blanketed in 6" of snow, which was beautiful! The park was overall nice, clean, most interior roads were gravel and in fair to good condition, with lots of surrounding trees. The sites were gravel and not very level. We are in a 40' DP towing a full-sized crew-cab pickup truck, so we definitely fall into the big-rig category. It was very hard to maneuver out of their 'big-rig' pull-through sites. We had to drive through sites across from us to get a straight enough shot out and down a road before we could leave. Luckily the place was fairly empty or we would have never gotten out. This is due to poorly planned, very narrow roads and the over-density of their site layout. If they would fix this, and stay on top of keeping the sites leveled, this would have been a 5 star/10 point stay, easily.
We stayed here as an overnight pass-through on our way home from Florida. Was a nice place in general, we made reservations online which was fast, quick and easy a month prior. Our pull-through site was large and long so we didn't have to disconnect our car. It was well shaded, and reasonably level. We couldn't get our coax to hook-up to the cable port at our site, it was stripped out, so no TV for the night. The only thing in my mind that would put this park over the top, would be paved or concrete sites. They are currently dirt/sand/leaves, very messy and tracks into your coach.
We stayed at this park for 2 nights. It was very nice, and the office staff were extremely friendly. The sites are well thought out, paved and in-general the park is very clean. They close the gate overnight, if you need access they can give you a code. This makes the park secure at night, albeit I didn't feel the need (or unsafe), as the area the park is in seemed nice, plus it's tucked away off a quiet side-road. While very minor, depending on the site you stay in, they may have to take you to a turn-around area, which is extremely dusty and unpaved. This caused our freshly washed car in tow to become completely covered in white dust. As a gesture of great customer service, the office staff allowed us to wash the car off after they saw what happened without making us purchase a wash pass. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
We stayed at this park for one night, prior to the departure from our home area for a week long trip as it's 5 min from our home. We needed to leave before Friday morning Atlanta traffic to get on our way. It's very convenient to the major Atlanta metro areas, tucked away in a corner along the interstate just off I-85 and Indian Trail. We didn't hear any highway noise, which was good. Our site was very large, long and shaded. The sewer water and electric hook-ups were a serious stretch, located at the very back of the site, and we maxed out all 3 just to hook-up and pull forward far enough to have the car behind our coach remain hooked-up overnight. There are only three things that make me take pause with the park: very open access, feels a bit unsafe due to the area, some very long-term residents adds to that area atmosphere and the sites are not paved. Otherwise a generally good experience, and the guy in the office was nice.
We stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. Mildly put, the place was an unsafe zoo. There was no enforcement in the park on anything, leash laws, noise or the general drunken reveler displays taking place. We witnessed a young lady's little white dog get mauled by another camper's pit bull. Very tragic and sad reminder why there must be pet breed restrictions in place and RVC didn't have any. We are regular's here, so were the victims. Most of the office staff was extremely rude when handling the situation, threatened to kick out other parties involved with helping the staff and victims rush their pet to a animal hospital. Contacted RVC's corporate office and was offered nothing other than a promise to change and no apologies.
This KOA has gone downhill since our last stay about 2.5 years ago. Folks at front desk were a little rude, one quipped an off-colour joke about something else going on while we were checking in. The owners weren't present. It's painfully evident that the park is now mostly full of permanent residents and in serious need of some maintenance + TLC. Trash, general clutter, junk, lawnmower gas cans (stored around some units!), pallets, run down cars, and filthy 70's-80's vintage trailers (RV type) are everywhere. It's a heavily wooded CG, they should make the owners wash those things from time to time and simply CLEAN UP or get out! The pull-through sites were dirt (mud), very un-level and unkempt. Leaves, sticks, twigs, pine needles everywhere, all to be tracked into your coach. The picnic table couldn't be touched, literally, without getting covered in green goo (algae)! Interior roads were full of front-end swallowing holes and severely rutted, also very hard to navigate with permanent resident's cars parked along-side all over the place. The pool was filthy, water was cloudy and had lots of gunk floating in it. There were quite a few 'seedy' looking folks hanging around. Gave it a 2 star for the in-park pizza delivery (was decent) and the fact that the only thing going for it now is it's very convenient for our Tampa-Atlanta runs plus it's DIRT cheap. We probably won't stay there again though unless it gets cleaned up.
