Fun place to camp being right on the bike path and beach. Security restrooms were nice and clean. No complaints but you have to be OK with LAX jet noise from above. We had a nice fire ring on beach near our space.
This place needs some help. The campsites were rough. There were lots of tripping hazards like cable wires and utility boxes and pipes in ground near campsite. Many areas of the park were in disrepair. The pool had no shade areas and the chair I had was broken. The restrooms had dirty toilets that did not flush--GROSS. I was surprised to find neighboring camps that were nicer and half the nightly cost. This place caters to off road riders since they have ATV exits to trails from inside the park. We were there on a busy Easter weekend and the noise was too much. I would not return.
We have camped here before and enjoy the area. We paid an extra $11 / night for a premium space. Even though we were only a few spaces from the WIFI antenna, it did not work well. I would have given a 9 if it did. Nice place to camp for bike riding and relaxing. I used the Jacuzzi and enjoyed it. The restrooms have a combo lock to enter the shower area first, then separate to the washrooms. There is a game room and a decent store. I would go again, but find a coffee place for WIFI use.
We stayed here over Labor Day weekend. They had lots of fun family activities. Pizza on Friday night, Chili cook off contest on Saturday night, Candy Bar bingo, hot dogs (free) on Sunday. We had a great time and will return again.
This park was OK. Very expensive, but good location. Our space #187 was one of the toughest camps to park in I have ever experienced. The camp roads are very narrow and windy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We even used the on site laundry and that worked well. Dont expect much of a lake view. Nice place, but I would pick some place else before coming back.
This place was just OK. Lots of trees, so it seemed we were camping in a forest. Kinda cool, kinda not. Spaces were level. Good place to camp to enjoy the lake and falls. No Wi-Fi that I could use, but I guess there was a fee. I heard it did not work well from a neighbor. My phone service did not work here either, so I had to go into town to use my phone.
Great price here! We could of had a better space, but the locals get all those. Campground was packed full, mostly locals for a weekend getaway. Host was friendly and helpful. We only stayed 2 nights because of our schedule, but I could have enjoyed this place a week. This is one to remember and visit again. Pretty lake and close to other attractions. We will be back a 3rd time I am sure. Our space was #3 when we stayed here last June 02 also.
Typical KOA friendliness and routine here. Nice camp. Level, dirt / grass spaces. Kids like the rental Three Wheeled Cruisers to play with. Pancake breakfast made us feel like family. One of our camps we also stayed in summer 02 as well. We may even return on another visit.
This place was rustic dirty. Stayed here 3 nights. Seems lots of camps had campfires going and it was very smoky. Doubt I would return. Restrooms were good. Store is well stocked. Probably good if you are a fisherman. Lake was pretty.
I don't give out many 10's, but I could not think of anything wrong here. Reasonable price. Not too crowded. Easy access, friendly staff, clean. I even had a package delivered here and was happy it was given to me when I checked in. Nice, roomy spaces, level. Nice laundry facilities. This is our 2nd visit as we were also here last summer. I will return.
This is a pretty good park. The kids did not want to leave because they have so many activities. We enjoyed the big screen movies at the pool and the big jumpy. This is a big park. We had a problem with the power going out in the whole camp, but it was fixed quickly. We also stayed here last summer. Yes, we would return again. I thought the price was a bit high, but there is good value here. Well stocked store and friendly staff. We will return another trip as well.
We loved this camp! The camp sites were flat and level. It was just a short walk to the sand dunes and the beach was about half mile away (over sand dunes). The camp staff was nice and helpful. They offered boogie boards for just a deposit. There is a horse rental corral nearby. This camp is best if you want to be away from the city. It's about a 5 mile drive north to Pismo Beach. We will be back again.
My rate stated includes tax and the $2/night dog fee. The main reason we decided to camp here is a friend's recommendation. The staff greeted us in a very friendly manner and they were very helpful and available. The sites are very spacious. The problem here is deferred maintenance. Everything that has been painted needs repainting. The signs within the park are all old and faded or broken. The sites themselves were a weed patch. I still have foxtails and plant matter stuck to my UGG boots. The bathroom gets an extra point for the hand painted tarantula on the stall door. The bathroom loses a point for a hole in the wall covered up with a sheet of paper asking to keep the door closed. I assume that rule is to keep the wild animals out. The pool bathroom had a broken hinge on the stall door. There was no soap in the bathroom either. The solar heated jacuzzi was nice, but cloudy water made me feel I was in a natural pool. The rec room with a pool table was locked up the whole time we visited over the weekend. Too bad some of that solar heated water did not help the freezing pool. I would not return until they made some improvements. I would rather camp in a primitive camp or nearby county park than go back there.
This is a great camp and I would return. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The sites are well sized. I stayed in space #98 and I was happy with its size and location. I arrived late at night and that space was one of the easiest possible sites. Many sites have good shade trees. They have made some good investments here. The WI-FI worked great. The indoor pool was awesome. The indoor jacuzzi and sauna had plenty of room and they were all very clean. Next time I visit, I will try to get a space in the trees for shade and location. I would have given it a 10, but there was a plumbing problem the morning I was there AT MY SITE. The friendly staff quickly took care of the problem. I actually look forward to my return.
This was a nice camp overall. The spaces we a little small, but we managed to have 4 bikes, a Suzuki Samurai and a 2500 long bed truck on site with our 26' trailer. It is a good location for going into the town or a walk to the beach. It was smoky at nights since each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Our kids enjoyed the pool and arcade. The store was well stocked and reasonably overpriced for a camp store. We were in space 5x and would return another visit. Tents were allowed during the day.
The park host (PH) was great. He helped us get into our space with ease. The Wi-Fi was a little weak, hence the 9. We also had to pack out our car and camp each night to avoid bears being attracted to our camp. Very clean park as PH kept it clean and no trash allowed at camp because of attracting animals. Close to town and Gull lake. They have a fish cleaning station and a community deep-freeze if you want to freeze your catch. We would return here.
We had a great visit and would return. The staff was friendly and helpful. They make muffins and have free coffee in the morning. They even made brownies in the afternoon one day. Very comfortable clubhouse with TV, puzzles and good Wi-Fi. We used laundry also. Dirt sites were nice and level. Well stocked store for gifts and necessary items. Loved the view of Mt. Whitney from near our campsite.
Typical KOA. Kabins were nicer than other KOA's. The A/C worked great and the WI-FI gets a 10. The only problem we had was the water heater pilot light went out twice. We could have used the camp showers, but took cold ones instead. Nice flat camps and friendly, helpful staff. The price was $79/100 for the 2 nights we were here: way too much $$$ for a KOA. There was a music festival that weekend, and they raised the prices for Saturday night stay. I would go back in our trailer, not their kabin.
The price is right. Pool was kind of cold, but I swam in it once, my kids several times. Walking distance to a store and a beer bar. Friendly staff invited us back for a big July 4th weekend bash they do. We would come back next desert season. Manager said there were some plans to improve a few outdated areas of the park. The park is 45 years old, but is comfortable. No playground, but lots of kids enjoyed the pool.
Great family park. On major weekends, they have lots of fun family activities. Be sure to get a taco from the taco man! Great staff, clean, well laid out park. Swimming pool has adult hours for a kid-free swim if you want. Close to a park and class 1 bike trails. We rode bikes to Coronado and back while we stayed there. We will return. I'd give it a 10 if the WI-FI was better.
Great camp for the price. Dirt parking. Nice and level. Good layout if you want to camp with a few friends close to each other. Easy walk to a market and the "Iron Door", a beer bar. Friendly to off-roaders. Pool was freezing cold, but my kids did not mind. We stay here once or twice a year. Usually don't need reservations. Lots of spaces even during peak season.
We enjoyed this place so much, we extended our stay 2 extra days. It has 9 warm mineral spring water pools to enjoy. Great for family or adults. There is a cafe on site with a good valued menu. They even served us hot dogs at their sales site for mobile homes. We will be back. I would have given this park a 10 if the WI-Fi had worked better. They said they are working to improve that. The $25 rate is with Passport America.
We stay here often. The staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoy the swimming pool, ping pong and pool table. The laundry room has plenty of machines. The dog run is large and convenient. Close to freeway, but not too noisy thanks to the tree cover. It is along a train track, but the horns do not blow near this area. Cheap with Passport America discount.
