We camped here last weekend. The campground was clean and the sites were level. The playground was nice, but a little small. There is a very nice park near by -about a mile, with a splash park ($2) and boat rentals - ($10 to $40). All and all, the campground it nice. The management is horrible. We had a problem with our brakes and had a problem moving the camper. We were arranging for a tow and had communicated this with the staff when the manager pulled up in a golf cart and was quite confrontational. We were paying for another night to buy some time and she was still quite rude. The campground was nice enough, but given that there were parties going on all night long around us and the management was nasty, we won't be back. Also, it appears that many locals camp there and use it as a base for parties. There were people parked in the visitors parking lot walking in and out all day/night.
This was a huge disappointment. Our electric cord, water hose, and sewage hose did not reach, which I was later told was a "problem with the back lots". The pool was frigid even though it was supposed to be heated. The wireless internet did not work, per the management. The worst part of the camping experience were the mosquitoes. My 3 year old had over 20 mosquito bites while we backed in the travel trailer. We spent the weekend with foggers and Off. I'm sure it had rained a good amount, but there was a great deal of standing water, which contributed to the problem and it was obvious. The employees were all very nice summer help who were useless. For example, I told one that I needed a longer hose. She suggested, at 9:50 at night, that I go into town to get one. I asked if the local store was open late and she said that it was. Upon my return, I found out that you had to have a gate key to reenter and and she was the one who issued them. I could not drive back to my campsite without going camp site to camp site asking if someone had a key. When I mentioned that to her the next day, she said,"Wow, you've had a rough time."
Fantastic. The sites are smaller, but the campground is beautiful. The pool is perfect, indoor and warm! The staff is very nice, especially the owner. This is not a rustic place, but if you want a place to get away for a bit and let the kids have fun, this is a great place. It was VERY CLEAN. We could not get over how clean it was.
