You do have to watch for the office which is on the right before you get to the gate. They put us in a place that had not been mowed in weeks and was full of stickers, but they came and mowed the next day and it was OK. The sites are roomy and very level. There was a motorcycle rally going on the last weekend we were here, but they were all quiet after 9:30 at night. My husband got sick and we had to call 911 who was there in less than 10 minutes. The paramedics were great, but I cannot say the same thing for the hospital in Brownsville. We will be going back to the Park again. The beach was cleaned every morning, and although you can't see the surf from your trailer, you can sure hear it.
We stayed here on our way to South Padre and on the way back. The site was really short and the water was 20 plus feet from the electric/sewer. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The dog walk area is close to the non-permanent spots and was handy as well as nice for the dogs. Everything worked well. The little store was nice, too. The park was close to I-35, but we could hardly hear the traffic. We would stay there again on our way south.
This is well worth the drive west of Fargo. When we were there, it was stormy, but the road and sites were in pretty good shape. Laundry is handy and very clean, but take your own reading material unless you are a farmer or a missionary. Having the hotel with restaurant and food court close was nice. It looks like they are adding a new strong fence around the campground. On Saturday night, we could hear the club music, but not enough to interfere with our sleep. We went to North Dakota to get out of the Texas heat and it was nice and cool.
This was a very pleasant park with level spots and great shade not too wide to block our satellite dish. Owners were very helpful to we novice travelers assisting to fill propane bottles, etc. We passed through on our way home, too, and they were just as pleasant. Water was cool, everything was easy to hook up. Owner gave us a treat for each dog and a mint for each of us. Handy to gas, Dairy Queen and McDonalds.
