We camped in a double site, number 29. It was away from the other sites. Edges of lake were clean and the grass was mowed. The site was beautiful. We had a double-covered picnic area with a fire ring. Traffic was low in this area, so that the kids were able to ride their bicycles. Sites were level and shaded. Very nice!
Level sites, very quiet, beautiful views. Mr. Salmon has moved in many buildings - some are cabins and some have been "refurbished" ex.:Jail, etc. The lake is sandy bottom and spring fed; very clean. There is room for bike riding, a train available on the weekends and a camp store. We love to camp here!
Sites were level and clean, but close together. Pool was clean and nice, and rules are strictly enforced. Nice park and super close to Sea World. We didn't have any trouble and our kids enjoyed it! Wi-Fi is available for a minimum fee. We would camp here again.
This is the most beautiful State Park in Texas. There is plenty of hiking and the river, for swimming. We camped in Site #26 in Old Garner. It is the closest site to the river that we found. The Park is very large, full of deer and other wildlife. We weren't there long enough. The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming, although a little on the cool side in October. We will be going back!
There isn't a whole lot to this State Park other than the ocean. Your only about 30 feet from the beach, which is nice. The sites were fairly level and spaced apart. We would definitely camp here again, just for the proximity to the beach.
We camped here because they were running a "2 nights for the price of 1" special. It was well worth every penny. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The laundry facilities were well-lit and relatively inexpensive. The swimming pool and hot tub were very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here and would do so again.
Very clean, very nice park. It sits up so that you can see the Dam and lake. The view is awesome. The pool, hot tub, game room and exercise room were all clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms are private and again, clean. We camped in pull-thru #58, by the pool. We will definitely stay here again.
This was a beautiful park. We were camped in A1. It is across from two playgrounds, which our kids loved, well-shaded, and still with a river view. All of the sites were level, most were shaded and as other reviewers have noted, there was ample space between sites. They have several dump stations and the park is very well-maintained. We will definitely stay here again.
Fort Parker is a nice little getaway. I agree with the other reviews. There are canoes and kayaks for rent, a NICE playground, and a nature center. If you like bird watching, you will be in heaven. The park was quiet. Campsites 25 & 24 or 1 & 2 are good sites, if you're travelling with friends. The other sites, #'s 13 - 17 were more level, more shaded, and offer more privacy from other campers.
