We stayed at Wild Acres in late August '07. We found the sites (premium site) to be very spacious. This park was very clean, and the staff was helpful. The pool appeared to be well maintained. The rear entrance is 2/10 mile from the beach. We walked to the beach, and found it to be a very convenient location for beach access. We did notice several different times that teenagers were driving golf carts at a high rate of speed. This was quite common. The campground store was advertised as "well stocked". We found it to be "nearly depleted". This could be due to the end of the season. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would camp here again.
This place is a dump. Narrow, dirty sites. Be ready to play musical cars every time a new camper arrives. The bugs are terrible. Barking dogs all day and night. Loud music, and drunken parties galore. We had to walk through a bar full of drunken patrons to bring our 4 year old to the "Boo-Boo's Birthday Party." The staff was rude, and quite frankly, looked like they were hired from a work release program, complete with wife beater shirts, and jail house tattoos. We watched a staff member groping and petting a female staff member as they were dishing out cake to campers. UGH. The campground manager couldn't keep his eyes off my wife's chest. This place is filthy, disgusting, and NOT for children. Without a doubt, the WORST place I have ever stayed. This includes a few motorcycle rallies.
This park was GREAT! Super friendly staff. We rented a Super Site, which was great. We could not unroll our awning all the way because of trees, but this wasn't a big problem. The facilities were super clean. The roads were paved, and manuverable. Many big rigs there. Watch out for the alligators in the pond. We saw 2 of them. This campground is very close to Disney, and it's a perfect location for attractions. My only real problem was the Wi-Fi. You can not get Wi-Fi unless your sitting at the pool: and even then it's slow, and spotty. You also pay for the Wi-Fi. Aside from that, I highly recommend this place.
Sites were very tight. Roads were narrow. It was quiet and quite peaceful during my stay. The no-see-ums are terrible between 4:00 and 8:00. I did not have any real issues, but the management did evict a camper for posting a review on another camping site while I was there. I felt that this was completely uncalled for. I did not use any facilities, but the WiFi was awesome there.
