An overall outstanding campground! Please disregard any and all old reviews for this website, because this campground has different management from a few years ago. My family and I were very impressed with the very clean, air conditioned bath house, very friendly staff, shaded lots, clean swimming pool and access to a small beach on the North Landing River, upper Currituck Sound. The campground is also a short ride to the Pungo Strawberry Festival.

Nice, shaded campground, with the waterfalls adding to the beautiful scenery. Very friendly staff who are very helpful to visitors, as it was our first time there. The majority of the lots are small and not paved, barely any gravel left, mostly grass. I recommend the lower lot, especially for visitors with larger motorhomes because the pond, office, bath house and everything is in the lower lot, and there IS a very sharp, steep turn to get into the upper lot. No pool, no playground for kids, but our kids still had fun. I recommend this campground for the beauty and quiet, and a 45 minute drive to Boone and Blowing Rock.

This is my family's favorite campground in the area. It is quiet, lots of trees, not crowded, and has a very friendly staff. My kids love the putt putt golf course and two large playgrounds. My wife and I like the fire pits, hiking trails, and spacious area. There is also a nice lake stocked with fish. One can also rent canoes or paddle boats. No water hook up to RV, but there are water spigots near every lot for fresh water. Only reason I don't give a 10, is the bathhouse isn't the most clean or modern, but hey, you're camping! Great, fun campground overall!

Pros: Military and family friendly. Short walk to the ocean. Full hook ups. Clean and safe area. Paved and even lots. Easy to get to once you're on base. Cons: If your RV is over 30 feet long, and you decide to use the main gate, you have to call ahead and arrange to have the barriers removed. They tried to tell me my 33 foot long rig could make it through the gate, and we got stuck for almost 45 minutes when we got there! No fires allowed at your site. There is a group fire pit in the "older section". No pool or playground for the kids, but the ocean is right there!
