This park is in a central location. It cost $12 to take a cab to Cannery Row. We decided to rent a vehicle and the Camp Host gave me a ride to get a vehicle from the airport rental lot. I was planning on riding my bicycle as it is only 1.5 miles away. We stayed on the concrete with a view of the golf course. Our rig however did get hit by a golf ball. Depending on the site you will need an extra long sewer hose. I needed 30' to make it work. The gate closes at dusk, but the host will give you the code to open the gate after dark. There is only one bath on site (one male. and one female) and I always had a brief wait for a shower. If you are coming to Monterey to see the sites, I highly recommend this site because of the central location. Site also has easy access to public buses. There were not many children, but it was real easy for the kids to bike around and play football. I think kids are welcome, but not many were here.
Very nice facility. Easy freeway access and in a safe well lite area. There was some freeway noise, but given the cost it was well worth it. Got in about 11 PM, and left at 8 AM. Nobody was there for me to pay so I gave the $10 fee to another camper and asked them to pay. I assumed the fee was $10 as that is what was posted on the sign next to the power outlet. I stayed on the side that only offered power and water. If you need an over-night this is a great place. I am not an Elks member, but I had called to make reservations, and was told none were needed, as the lot was empty and I was to pay at the bar in the morning.
