The campground looks to be a converted graveled lot. There is some grass growing up in the gravel. There are several residents sprinkled throughout the park. The owners are making some improvements so maybe it will look better in the future. I would use it again only as a last resort.
The nicest campground I have ever visited. Some of the sites are a little close together but everything else is the best. There is a brand new bathhouse that was always spotless. The creek flows through the campground. The historic fish hatchery is right next door. The scenery around Spearfish is beautiful. We were very disappointed in the area surrounding Mt. Rushmore. It is very commercialized. We are very thankful we decided to stay in Spearfish after driving to Mt. Rushmore. We will return!
We "roughed" here for 2 nights to explore the Tetons. The sites do not have hookups but we were able to make the battery last long enough. Stay as far as you can to the east for the best views of the mountains. Some of the sites are pretty rough and unlevel but I would not have traded my 2 nights here for anything. It is what I dreamed of when planning my Yellowstone trip.
An excellent place to stay if you like great people, beautiful scenery and a beautiful campground. If you would rather be packed in like sardines and eat dust, stay at the KOA in town. This campground was recently remodeled. The showers are the nicest I have ever had the privilege of using in a campground. The floors even have heated tile for you comfort. The river is close to several sites. The longhorn cattle add to the atmosphere. We only planned to stay one night but ended up staying 2 nights because it was so peaceful.
Very nice spot for a quick layover or a few nights to explore Cheyenne. The owners are very nice and helpful in every way. The sites are gravel but fairly level. The WI-FI does not work very well except close to the main office. We would stay here again if visiting Cheyenne.
Excellent state park with trees and grass galore. The sites are electric only so do not forget to fill your fresh water tank on the way in (don't ask). The lake has a great beach. We had a kayak with us so the kids had a great time in the water.
The campground is basically a parking lot with hookups. However it is very convenient for visiting downtown St. Louis. The owners are 2 of the nicest people you will ever meet. The pool is great after a long drive. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and modern. I would stay here again if visiting St. Louis but prefer a more natural setting if possible.
