We actually did not end up staying here. It sounds like a wonderful park. We made a reservation. After we got through the entire reservation process the staff member informed me that the park is 50 amp only and that we would need an adapter which we did not have. There is no mention of this on their website. We decided to cancel and stayed at a different campground.
Nice amenities. Restrooms were clean and seemed very new. Plenty of room between spaces. Almost all spaces were gravel. There was one paved one that we luckily got since it was raining really hard that day. You can hear freeway noise since it's right off the freeway, but the sites on the same side of the lake as the office were much less noisy. Staff was helpful and friendly. One thing to note --a rule that we noticed on their information sheet that they gave us at check in. It said to refrain from using alcohol. From the wording, we weren't sure if that really meant that drinking is prohibited or if they meant "don't get drunk/loud, etc." We just stayed overnight so we didn't test the rule, but I would clarify if we planned a longer stay there.
Small but nice park in a great location for visiting attractions in Ft. Worth. Management was very friendly and helpful. Spaces were gravel and fairly level. There was not a lot of grass between sites, so it probably gets muddy when it rains. It was surprisingly quiet for being in the middle of town. Walking distance to a movie theater and several really good restaurants. Bathrooms are adequate.
We loved this campground. We stayed for a week in early May before the season began, so it was not crowded and there were no kids and very few golf carts. The waterpark was not yet open and the camp store was open only limited hours, but this was not an issue for us. They let us play mini golf for free since it wasn't officially open yet and they were still cleaning it up from the winter. The shuttle to Ocean City wasn't running yet, so we took a cab into town a couple of times since we don't have a tow vehicle. We originally booked an ocean view site. It was a beautiful site but it was really windy so we asked if we could move to an interior location. They let us pick out which one we wanted to move to and then even refunded some of our money since the ocean view space had been at a premium price. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. We rode our bikes from Frontier Town to Assateague Island. It was an easy 4 or 5 mile ride (each way.)
Nice level campground behind the Cabela's store. Gravel roads, mostly pull-through sites with plenty of space. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Our campsite was toward the back and we were not bothered by road noise. Overall, this campground is good for an overnight stay. If you plan to use the bathroom/shower facilities, you will probably not want to stay more than overnight. They were mostly clean, but the shower and bathroom were in separate areas. So, for example, if you are in the shower, you have to go outside and through another entrance to shave or go to the bathroom. There was no place to set anything down in the shower area and most of the wall hooks were missing. My husband took the only shower that had a wall hook and he said it looked like someone had "shaved a poodle" in there. There is an RV car wash across the street.
This is a great campground. Nice gravel roads, level sites with picnic tables at each. Bathrooms were very clean, well lit and well stocked. Laundry facility was also nice and clean. The staff is friendly and extremely informative! They seem to have fixed the long check-in issue by giving you your space number immediately and asking you to come back to check in after you get settled. Conveniently located to many of the attractions in Cody, including the museum and the Cody Nite Rodeo. It gets windy: we stayed for 6 days and never even put our awning out. We had a great site but, in general, sites are close together and some of them are awkwardly situated. They only take cash, but have an ATM on site. The Wi-Fi doesn't work very well.
Overall a good campground that we would return to for an overnight stay. Level, gravel sites. There were quite a few potholes at the entrance but we were able to avoid them for the most part. The bathrooms in the main building were clean and well maintained. There was a small building with additional bathrooms and showers near the tent camping area. These were dirty and not fully functioning. There is a railroad track nearby and a train comes through very frequently.
Level camp sites, easy access from the freeway. Overall, a decent campground that we would return to for an overnight stay. Sites had concrete patios with picnic tables. Bathrooms/showers were clean but small (only 1 shower in each). They are located, along with the laundry, in a trailer with no a/c. There were few trees, as you would expect in the high desert. The sites were pull-through, but as another reviewer noted, there was a curb at the front. We were able to avoid it by backing up and going around the back of the sites to exit. They take cash or checks only. There were quite a few grasshoppers jumping around, but the critters that really bothered us were the ants that were in the grass and on the patio. Keep your feet up if you want to sit outside, and/or bring some Raid.
Overall a nice campground. As another reviewer noted, this campground is under new ownership and is undergoing some renovations. Fairly level, gravel sites with picnic tables and fire rings. Firewood is available for sale. The staff is friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. 2 shower stalls are available in each. Sites are pretty close together. There would be limited availability for a really large rig, so I'd recommend calling first if that's what you have. The park was very full due to the holiday weekend. Lots of kids and pets. The pool area was clean and well maintained. The only real issue we had was with mosquitoes and flies. There were tons of flies and inevitably some got into our RV. After dark the mosquitoes were terrible. There was some standing water near the edge of the property and several piles of dirt that had been dug up recently. I assume that once they finish w/ the renovations, this problem will be at least somewhat resolved.
This is a nice park with level, paved sites. Clean facilities. Store has a good mix of supplies available. We stay here a couple times a year in transit to and from other destinations. There are not a lot of options in this area so it's fortunate that this park is so nice. No sewer hook ups but they have a convenient dump station.
Really nice park. We paid a bit more to get a premium site that was on a point overlooking the lake. It was picturesque. We stayed here in early August over a weekend and it was deserted. The manager told us that the schools in the area were already back in session at that time. We were only passing through for 1 night but would definitely come back for a longer stay to take advantage of the lake and marina. Clean, well maintained park.
Very clean, well run park. Our dog loved the fenced in dog run. Many level spots available. Close to the freeway but not much road noise. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay here again.
We only stayed here over night so we didn't get to take advantage of the lake and other amenities but it looked like a nice place for an extended stay. We lucked out getting a level site but not all of them were so level. There is a security gate around the property and a combination is needed for access in the evening. This complicates a late check-in, however we kept in touch w/ the staff by cell phone on our way there so they waited for us pretty late and were very nice about it.
