Great campground. Within 1-2 hours of Boulder/ North metro Denver. Dry camping, but we had a generator so no problem for us. No amenities, just a great get-away location. Kids had fun exploring the stream, riding bikes, etc. Will definitely return!
Nice place to spend the weekend. Park rangers made their presence known, so we didn't have to contend with the loud drinking crowd as you do at other local campgrounds (Horsetooth, Carter, etc..) Sites were kept very clean. It is one of only a few campgrounds like this with flush toilets and showers. Little to no privacy and you are fairly close to your neighbor, but we like this campground as a nice, close, weekend get away.
Nice park- showers were a welcome sight. Bathrooms were kept pretty clean. Vault toilets were awful! They had deodorizers in them so the smell wasn't terrible, but they were overun by flies! My daughter lifted the lid and a bunch of flies flew out. After that we rode our bikes to the marina to use the flush toilets!
Now this is camping! Sites are among the pine trees, night sky is amazing. This campground was very quiet and extemely well maintained! We were hardly out of our site when the camp host was here raking and cleaning! Hosts were very helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer and seen more sights. The only complaint is the vault toilets and no running water. If it had showers and flush toilets we may not have left! I would highly recommend this campground.
