The sites are large with long pull throughs as advertised. That was the only thing that was impressive about this campground. Staff really didn't seem to care if we were here or not. I interrupted a TV program to check in: she wasn't happy. Electrical connections sketchy. Glad we have a surge protector. Cable wires lay on top of the ground. There is only one dumpster in the park and you are required to bring your trash there. Depending on your site, it could be quite a hike. We only stayed one night and won't be back.
Nice park with easy access from Interstate 95. The sites are good size pull-through, level, perfect for big rigs with TOAD. The park is clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nice nature trail that is actually long enough to give you exercise. We would stay here again. WiFi worked well.
This park should have a higher rating than 10. So impressed that it is maintained by the county and not a private park. The roads are paved, campsites level, nice size with buffers for privacy. Great walking/cycling/running trails. Wonderful family facility with a dog park, water park, climbing wall, dock for fishing, boat/kayak/canoe rental. The shuttle into the Charleston Visitor Center is very convenient and at $10 round trip it's close to what you would have to pay to park your car without the hassle. We will go back here.
This is one of the top 5 campgrounds were we have stayed. We stayed in site P1 and the views are just amazing. The sites are very laid out and we had privacy even though we were relatively close to our neighbor. It is quiet, peaceful and the staff were great. Also nice to have hiking trails at the park. Love that they have concrete pads for the RV and patio area. One suggestion: if you are towing a car, disconnect before you start up the mountain.
This park was great for us. We had a site on the water: actually a bluff above the water. Beautiful views and plenty of room. We were very impressed with the facilities: boat ramp, RV camping and tent camping with water access. There are a couple of small docks from which you can fish, and we caught a couple. It is close to the historic area, but away from the noise of town. The site was packed gravel and level. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a bike path/running trail that runs all the way into the residential area. Everything was nicely maintained. We'll be back.
