First time staying at this park and decided to based on the favorable reviews on this site. Very nice and clean, everyone was very friendly. All sites are brick pavers and there are nice grassy areas in between sites, so NO DIRT! Good alternative to a state park in the winter/fall, full hookups including cable at all sites. Nice pool but not sure I would want to stay there in the summer, would rather be closer to the beach. Also, you are allowed to have a camp fire if you bring your own fire pit - this was huge plus for us as we love our campfires! Would definitely recommend this campground.
We decided to camp here for one night on our way from Ft Myers to Orlando after purchasing a new TT. We booked kind of last minute for this time of year (about a week before) and got the last site in the place, #104 which is a pull through. I was glad to have a pull through especially with our new TT which is 33'. When we got here however I was disappointed! Sites are TINY, even the pull through sites. And 104 in particular is so narrow and unlevel it's unbelievable. I used all the leveling blocks I had and still couldn't get level front to back. The site is so narrow we could barely get our slides out. And once they were out, forget about trying to walk around them. The park itself seems nice, but my first impression is it's not very RV friendly. It is located right off of a busy stretch of US 41 but you don't hear any traffic noise from within the campground.
What a great campground! Beautiful scenery, large, well shaded campsites and lots to do. There are several hiking trails, which can also be biking trails as we proved. While we were there they were repaving the campground roads and the pool was closed, so we didn't really get the full experience. One complaint we have is that there is only 1 dump station for a park this large and we waited in line for nearly an hour on Sunday morning to use it. Otherwise this park is great, probably the nicest state park we've stayed at. They have canoe and bike rentals and a large general store with a cafe which is very convenient. We really enjoyed ourselves here and look forward to returning once all the road work is done and the pool is open.
Great location next to port and right on the beach. Campsites are very close together though with no privacy. The middle and back loops of the campground are essentially dirt lots with trailers scattered everywhere. As other reviews state the campground roads are indeed rough. But overall you have to consider where you are, which is right on the beach. Bathrooms were the cleanest we've seen at any campground which I must admit we weren't expecting. Rates I believe are cheaper staring May 1.
Nice, quaint little campground off of fairly busy stretch of Hwy 27 (Walmart 1 mile down the road). Most sites are very small, not able to fit more than 1 tent or trailer. There are a few larger sites in the back for big rigs. Staff here was very helpful and friendly. You can buy firewood at the gatehouse and they will deliver it to you by golf cart! Clean restrooms. Nice boat ramp and playground down by the lake, however no swimming due to alligators. We would camp here again.
Really nice campground very close to the beach (it's just across the street). Nice private, wooded sites. Restrooms clean but definitely dated. Only 1 dumpster all the way in the front so can be a long walk at the end of the night to throw out your trash depending on where your site is. No ground fires allowed so bring a fire pit if you want a camp fire. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice warm pool and adjacent hot tub. We would stay there again.
