The park was tidy and well kept with all the amenities in good working order. The bathrooms were clean but very outdated with the walls being painted particle board and the sinks showing many years of use. The sites were a different story as all are gravel and many are not level. One row could be pull thru's but are used as two sites on gravel defined by a chain with no privacy and literally backing right up to your neighbor. We stayed in a pull thru and had to move three times as the sites slope down and away. The pool was very nice but the nature trail was a pasture with a trail mowed through weeds. They have many mature trees and the park is on a small ridge overlooking the 400 for easy access to the freeway. I doubt we would stay here again as the price is steep for what you receive and much of that is likely influenced by the Jellystone name.
We stayed at this park for 4 days and really enjoyed ourselves. The park is clean and well kept, the bath house was neat and tidy, the pool was warm and clean, the playground, albeit small, was in good order and the staff very friendly. The camp store was limited and the games room was a scene from the 70's but it was full of charm, even the laundry-mat was well maintained and in good order. The sites are varied with some being very unlevel to others that are reasonably flat. All are gravel and most have mature trees. Satellite reception should be available at most sites near the front of the park. I would certainly stay here again as it is very close to the turnpike and a very easy commute to Cedar Point.
This is a kids playground as the park has many activities and amenities (for a price) offered. I would recommend reservations as not all sites have full hook-ups and the back of the park has train tracks beside it. The sites are mixed with some being rather close and others having adequate space between sites. All roads and sites are paved and reasonably level. WIFI was weak except near the office. The park was very clean and well kept but could utilize some security as quiet hours were ignored.
This park gets high marks for cleanliness, luxury, friendliness and design. The sites are large, well maintained and attractive. My only issue with this park is the lack of amenities on site. Since it just opened up this season, it would be unfair to critique it based solely on amenities (they are trying to finish the pool as quickly as the contractors can work), but after the sales staff goes home, there is nothing open or to do. However, if you are looking for a resort that is tranquil and peaceful, this is the place. This is a luxury motorcoach resort and perhaps in a few years they will have added additional features, but at this time you can walk around the park, admire the nature preserves or watch TV at your coach.
This park is the definition of bland. First impression when arriving is this could be cute. Opinion quickly changes after you check in. The registration / store is open until 4:00 pm then closes. The store selection is sparse at best and the condition of the store is uninviting. This park caters to seasonal sites and offers maybe 15% of the park to transient campers. The sites are grass, but were still relatively level. The park offers a small playground for children and a small pond for swimming. We did not see any other amenities for adults or children. During our stay, we did not see any park employees or any security. The one thing that is present and often is a train track that seems to have activity constantly. It didn't seem to what time of day it was, the train rumbled by, blowing it's horn. Since this park is also and the end of the runway of the local airport, you often heard small aircraft taking off and landing throughout the day. Between the planes and trains, this is not a very peaceful park to rest at. We assessed this park as OK if you wanted to stay in your unit and do nothing, otherwise it was boring and dull and showing signs of being decrepit.
This is a really cute park catering to families. The owners of the park are some of the nicest people you could ever meet and do everything possible to make your stay a memorable one. The park is of older vintage which restricts larger units from entering. Many low hanging limbs and electrical lines prohibit access to the transient area of the park. One of the many attractions of this park are the structured activities that are endless. They offered complimentary pizza on Saturday night and followed that with a dance for kids until 11:00 pm. The overall condition of the park was clean and tidy and in good condition.
Very nice campground situated within minutes of the strip. Check in was a breeze, with very courteous staff, and the customary assistance to your site. The park was very clean with paved streets, and extremely clean washrooms and showers. The laundry facilities had plenty of machines with reasonable prices. The sites are a tad tight for larger rigs, as we were unable to extend our awning or put a picnic table on the patio side but getting in and out was very easy. The park also has a good selection of sites that have mature trees and also many that have no trees at all. The WIFI worked well throughout the park and cable was better than expected. The pool was shut down but it appeared to be in decent shape. The things this park could do to improve would be to offer additional amenities to do on the days you didn't want to go to town, namely a games room, shuffleboard court, horseshoes or a hot tub. We would come back here anytime.
The previous post sums it up perfectly. This is a wonderful campground with plenty of shade, and generous sized sites. There are many pull through sites that are actually easy to access and easily accommodate 45 ft. The appeal of this facility is the location to Frankenmuth and the laid back atmosphere due to the lack of amenities offered. I also saw a few swings, one slide, an unkept volleyball court, and an unusable horseshoe pit (no posts). This park could really improve its ratings by offering more activities, and not gouging people by charging a visitors fee or 25c for showers. I would return here if a simply needed a place to sleep.
This is a very nice campground that offers scenery, activities and food. The park is well kept with very clean facilities. Lots of recreational activities and all were in excellent condition. Sites were decently spaced with the pull thrus having mature trees and minimal traffic. The campground's only knock is that it does not offer cable (not available in the area). The pizza place on site caters to the campers and even delivers to your site (good food also).
The park is impeccably clean, the rest rooms are spotless and the paved roads are all free of debris. The amenities are in excellent shape ( basketball, horseshoe, playground). There was watercraft for rent (seadoos, pontoon boat and fishing boats) and the beach (groomed each morning) offered a spectacular view of Lake Leelanau. All sites have concrete pads and full hook-ups with both in excellent shape. The owners are wonderful people who really care about your experience. The only critiques are the lack of trash containers throughout the park and the sparsity of WIFI away from the office. If you desired firewood you needed to retrieve it yourself from a pile at the rear of the park and pay at the front office. This park does not fit units larger than 42'. I would classify this as a top 10 park and definitely will return.
This should be the benchmark to which all campgrounds are measured. The disney experience is worth every cent. Upon check in you are greeted by cast members dressed in era attire. The theme is old west with modern conveniences. All roads are paved and most sites have cement pads. Hook-ups are all easily accessable and should you encounter a problem a service technician is promptly at your site. Some of the disney touches are complimentary transportation to the other disney resorts and theme parks, kennel services for your pet, incredible beach and pool areas, remarkable restrooms and showers. Most hotels would be envious of the calibre of these facilities. Another cute feature is the disney music playing through outdoor speakers as you get close to the waterfront. They also have a bus service that runs continuously through the park all day that is also complimentary. If you wish to stay at the campground they also have bike and boat rentals along with the usual outdoor activities. My only complaint is I'm not returning soon enough.
This is a hidden gem of a campground. The campstore is cute and abundantly stocked with the essentials at reasonable prices. The owners were extremely accommodating and very helpful. The sites were adequate in size but could use some additional landscaping for definition and curb appeal. Most sites had many trees which offered a Northern Mi feel. The amenities that are listed are all in good shape and most were free. The restroom and showers were very clean although hot water was sparse at peak times. The lake had many water attractions (slide, rafts, volleyball) and the lake bottom was actually tolerable(sandy). We also appreciated the theme weekend were they played a movie at dusk and had childrens games during the day. The only downside is they need more 50 amp sites and could offer trash pickup each day. They have started to add the deluxe patio sites but some would be difficult to fit a large RV, be specific with the staff regarding your needs. The pull throughs were in an open area which did not offer shady sites. The weather was very dry when we stayed here which created dust clouds every time a vehicle drove down a street. Adding something to minimize this would be appreciated. I would definitely stay here again.
