This park sits on the Paiute trail. It is clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and willing to help in anyway. Park has the only gas pumps in town. 2 good restaurants are within walking distance. We would stay here again!!
This our 5th year wintering at this park. It is a very popular park to spend the winter. Most of the residents are winter Arizonians and not work campers or folks that live here full time as the previous poster commented. It is an older park, that each year improvements are being made. It is family owned and operated, with a lot of activities to choose from. Winter residents are friendly and it has a "hometown" feel to it. Make your reservations early if you are planning to spend the winter! We will be returning!
We stayed here last August for a month and came back this year to spend the summer! Along the Arkansas river, in the country. Great hosts, very friendly. They put on a Cowboy dinner, complete with a wagon ride and cowboy singing and line dancing. Not fancy, but comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Also have motel rooms and 3 cabins. Close to Salida and many attractions.
This is an older park that is being upgraded. If you use Google Earth to look at campground, it shows grass. All grass has been removed, and they are in the process of redoing everything, so everything is gravel right now. When done this will be a great area. Good place to spend a night or two. Rating will go up with grass areas, etc. Will stay again.
Park is well maintained, and staff are very friendly. Have cafe on site. Food is good, although a little pricey. Free pancake and egg breakfast for RVers. Will stay again!
This an older RV park as stated by others. This is not a big corporation operation. It is run by the owner and his daughter with some part time help. The park is not glamorous, however it is very clean and well taken care of by the staff. This park offers a lot of entertainment, by the park and the residents. Very friendly staff and winter residents, who are always ready to lend a hand, should you need it. Pet friendly, with 2 dog runs. Quiet area and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Beautiful, night time skys. It has negative points, but all are over shadowed by the friendliness and the outstanding activities available to all. Our 4th season here and will be back!!!!
This is our 3rd year here. It is quiet, in the desert and very friendly. Easy to get around, even with a big rig like ours. Wonderful dog run for our JRT, he just loves it! Friendly, helpful staff and friendly folks, that make you feel like home!
Although there is a gravel pit next door, it was not loud or annoying.(this was important to the wife). No noticeable road noise. No geese near us, and our water was not "red" or smelly. We found the campground to be quiet, and we were there on a holiday weekend. Stayed a week and it was a good location for exploring the area. We are planning to return next July, to explore the area more.
This is our second winter here and we LOVE it. Plenty of activities, friendly RV owner and family. Really knows how to treat people!!! We have a 40 ft MH and did not have a problem anywhere in the park. Folks here are like family!! Excellent dog run for our Jack Russell! He loves it and remembered from last year and was ready to go the minute we got set up. Plenty of hiking and birding in the area as well as beautiful sunsets! I highly recommend this park and as I have operated State Parks, I know what to look for!!
Very nice park. Most sites are not level. The site we were first assigned, was downhill. Our rear wheels would have been off the ground! We got another site and it was much better. Staff very friendly. Park very clean.
