We camped on 2 river sites on their last weekend of the season. Everything was closed and there were some seasonals closing up for the season and a few other campers. On Friday night in the dark and cold, I managed to fall into the river and go under as I was clearing the area around the fire pit so the leaves and pine needles would not catch fire. Luckily I was able to get up and out without getting too injured. Stripped and took a shower and all was good. We enjoyed the campground and the sites were away from others there. We will probably go back at some point and not wait 18-20 years like we did since our last visit there. They have a large tenting area which looked nice. We shall see what next year brings.
This campground is part of the Hershey Family so it is totally geared to kids and those visiting Hershey Park. The majority of the sites are full hook up and the amount of travel trailers, 5th wheels and motorhome's is huge, it was fun walking around looking at all the trailers to plan out a future purchase. The Woodland area as some of the others are small and close but the time you spend at the campground makes it a non issue. The bus transportation to the park is a great value. The store is loaded with most everything you need plus great Hershey items in case you missed something at the park. These is a train near by but if you are in the Woodland section or by the river you can hardly hear it. The campground has 2 nice pools and an arcade as well as some entertainment. Would stay again if visiting the park.
The draw of this campground is Six Gun City, same owners and they offer length of stay passes. Many seasonals that seemed mostly neat, no build structures. Sites are tight and you can only do so much with Six Gun City which is geared to the very young. New owners are expanding and improving so in a few years could be better. New bathhouse would be a great direction to go as the one they have is very dated.
This is a great park and very clean. If only it had a pool we would have given it a 10 and would try to spend time in the summer. My wife has a rule that July and August trips must be places with a pool as she will not go in a lake, river or pond. So for us, this is a nice off season campground, very enjoyable.
This campground is a hard call. Many seasonals, nice people but some seasonals need to be cleaned up some. We had a great time but I think it was more of our camping friends than the campground itself. Pool looked nice and the store seemed to have what you would need. We have not ruled it out for future stays.
This campground to us was dusty and somewhat unkept. Never found the bathroom but did not need it, saw people walking all around looking to take a shower, not sure if they ever got to. Grass at our site was half way to our knees and the firepit was in the middle of the grass area. People seemed friendly enough but most likely would not return. With a little TLC I think this could be a great place.
