I have to revise my review of this park! We stayed 12 days at this park---While I still think it is a great park I have to really make anyone planning to stay here very aware that there are no rules here and that people let their big dogs run free and do their business everywhere and never pick it up. Inconsiderate owners, bad management, no rule enforcement.
Small campground with limited sites about 4 miles from the town of Ashley. They have added 7 new sites that are 50 amp. Gravel back-in sites; some are fairly long sites. Not completely level; we needed to add three blocks to level. First site we had had low branches, so we had to move to another site that was available, and it turned out to be the best site in the park with a lakeside view. Lots of grass around the entire park. Does not have sewer hookups ,but it does have a dump site, and also a fish cleaning station. Unable to rate any higher because of no sewer sites and there is no enforcement of rules. Would stay here again, but try to avoid weekends when the locals do their partying.
Great location close to shopping and Interstate 94. Location was not marked very well. All pull-thru sites. Gravel sites were not level and we were put into a site that was very muddy causing our 5th wheel to sink about 3 inches. May be better at a different time of year since they had lots of rain the weeks before. There was grass between the site, but it was about a foot tall. They needed to mow it more frequently.
Great office staff. Guided us to our space. Very level site. Park did have unpaved roads and with the rain it was very muddy. Sites are gravel and have grass at each site. Great park located close to downtown Bismarck. Lots of seasonal workers parked here so there was lots of traffic in and out of the park. We have stayed here several times and will always stay here when we come through Bismarck.
Great RV park!! The park owners are working very hard to make this a wonderful park. They have only owned it for 3 years but have great visions for the park. All sites are gravel and are very level. We stayed in the front sites which were back-in's. The back section of the park are all pull throughs. When we arrived our site was only equiped with 30amps, but within the hour, the owners had someone there to upgrade our site to 50amps. Now that is service!! The park is situated along a river. They have a private dock that you can fish off and a public boat ramp next to the park. Wonderful staff!!! Don't pass this one by. It is only 15 miles from Florence. We stayed here in a 5th wheel and are making plans to stay for a month on the next visit.
Located on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge away from highway and train noise. Only a year old, it is a very private and secluded park. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Owner will make you coffee in the morning! Great gathering hall with complete kitchen. Level gravel sites, some tucked away in the trees. Great pet area. Recommend very highly and are planning a return trip in October to watch the colors change.
Clean well maintained RV park. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious sites large enough for long trailers and motorhomes. Wi-fi was dependable and easy to access. Great small fishing town atmosphere. Had a great car show while we were there at the end of July. This was our second trip to American Sunset and will be going back.
This is truly an oceanfront campground. If you are lucky enough to have sites 1 to 20 you will have the ocean to lull you to sleep every night. You are within 100 feet of the beach. Sites are large, paved and well maintained. One of the best state parks we have ever stayed in. Lots of visibility of park rangers for security. We camp there yearly for the Washington State Kite Festival in Long Beach. Need to plan for this as the park is in high demand during the summer.
