This park is nice if you want to get away for a weekend or an overnight stopover. It is showing it's age though and they appear to be starting to renovate the bath houses. It is a wooded campground and there is of course wildlife such as deer and raccoons that can be seen. The campsites themselves have paved (chip sealed?) spots to put the camper but they have not been paved in many years so they are not all level. Overall the park is clean and the campground hosts are quite friendly. We typically camp here 2 to 3 times a year as it is close to home for that weekend getaway. We camped in a hybrid camper .

This campground has a wonderful assortment of nature and wooded campsites. If you like the back to nature but not quite boon docking feel this is a great park. When you stay at this campground you can almost be assured that you will have some wildlife be it a deer (sometimes multiple) or a wild turkey and even the occasional raccoon wander through your site. We love to camp here in the winter as the deer will stroll through the grounds like they own the place. (maybe they do) Winter camping is also nice here as you can be pretty much by yourself with typically 2 or 3 other units on the campground. We camp here in our hybrid camper often and I can't believe I missed the 05 winter season.

Of the state parks that we have stayed at this one was the most well maintained as far as the campsites were concerned. Although some sites were closer together, all were very level and clean. This campground had more of a park feel than others which have more of a primitive camping feel. There were plenty of activities throughout the day and the park ranger was regularly on hand for assistance and education while they showed you some of the wildlife they have.
