Nice quite park. Easy on, Easy off. Very little noise from I-10. Sites are level and drain well. It had rained all day before we arrived and there was no standing water anywhere. They do offer cable if you have a digital TV, which we don't, nor do we have a converter box. Over-air channels come in fine although the are only a few. We have Dish Network, but didn't want to set it up just for 1 night. Rate is Passport America rate. We would stay again if in the area.
Beautiful resort! We stayed for Memorial weekend and the resort was almost deserted. Would love to retire to this park. The only thing the resort itself doesn't have is a grocery store. If it did there would never be a reason to leave the park. Golf, tennis, shuffle board, horse shoes, bocci ball, fitness center with a sauna, pools, hot tubs, bank, post office, restaurants, golf cart rental, RV repair, RV parts store, RV sales, beauty salon, fenced dog run with doggie pots all over the park, nature center and trails, fishing lake, 6 or 7 comfort stations all with laundry and the staff is wonderful. Will be back as often as we can.
Had I known this was a Coast to Coast park before I arrived, I would have chosen a different park. Made reservations over the phone for 2 nights but only stayed 1. The whole campground seems to be run down. Streets are very narrow, all sites are back-in, restrooms are disgusting! The only good thing about this park is that it has a working hot tub. Will not return.
Very nice campground, unfortunately, the hot tub was not working, which is why we stopped there to begin with. There are only 6 pull thru's, but all are paved, mostly level sites. Showers are Wonderful. They are expanding the campground, adding another 49 sites but again all of them are going to be back-in's. Would stay again if in the area.
For a basic campground, this one is very nice. Sites are gravel and hilly but nicely situated. The showers are very large, but without a bench or separation between the shower and the dressing area, plus the stall doors are not long enough and can be seen under and over. Will stay again if in the area.
Not a bad campground. Spent 1 night, arrived after hours, but there is a phone number and someone came down right away to put us on a site that was close to the hot tub as I can't walk very well. Hot tub was probably the smallest I have ever seen, and it could have been hotter. We did not find the comfort station's as we did not have a map of the campground until we left the next day. We were on our way home or we might have stayed longer.
Park is expensive for what it offers. As there are no other parks in this area, we would stay here again if we needed to be in the area. Nice park, quiet, clean and a lot of activities. This is a city park that has RV sites. Lots of wineries in the area, if you are into that sort of thing.
Very nice park. Came in for only one night and ended up staying nine nights. Staff was very helpful, even gave us a ride to the store after we were here for a week, since we don't have a tow and we hadn't planned on staying so long. We stayed in the premium sites which are very nice even though it was a bit expensive for our taste. The campground is a bit out of the city, which makes it a nice quite campground. Will probably stay here again when in the area.
Stopped here for propane then stayed the night. Nice staff. Laundry uses pre-loaded key cards, so we couldn't use them. Most of the lots are approx 40' long, all back-in and approx 30' wide. Most of the resident are permanent. A little expensive for our tastes, especially since there is no cable nor a hot tub. We will probably look for someplace cheaper.
Pretty basic park. Clean, hot showers. The casino has a free shuttle and will come at any time. The park has night time security. There is also a couple of pay lakes that they stock regularly. Decent cable. Stable power. There is railroad track running right next to the park, but it is mostly used for a passenger train that goes all the way to Santa Fe to approx 20 miles south of the park, very inexpensive and good for sight seeing. Train noise was not a problem even though it was so close, and no noise at night. Last train runs around 10pm. Would have rated it higher if it have more to offer. Would stay again when in the area or going to the casino.
Nice enough park. Sites are somewhat unlevel front to back but also slightly side to side. Wal-Mart within walking distance. Limited cable. Clean HOT showers. It looks like they are trying to make improvements. Might return if in the area.
Good cable, good water pressure, good power, clean HOT showers (except the restroom itself was chilly), nice staff, close to fast food and restaurants. Highway noise was there but not bothersome. Will return if in the area.
Just stopped for the night. Chose it because they have a hot tub, unfortunately, after arriving several others in the area also have hot tubs. All the RV parks in the area are gravel lots, little landscaping, but at least this one has decent cable. Might use it again if in the area, or might try one of the other's depending on our needs. Wal-mart is right down the road.
Suited our needs at the time. Just passing through from Fl to AZ. This is the second time we have been here. We will return when in the area. Park is close to Joe's Crab Shack, which is one of the reason's we stopped here. They have a free breakfast, power is stable but the cable could use more channels.
Convenient for our use. Had been driving all day, and even a rest area would have been sufficient. Sites are narrow and the interior roads are hazardous. The only good things about this park is it was close to the freeway, has cable, and has a restaurant within walking distance.
Indoor hot tub was wonderful. Pool could have been warmer. If they would have had cable I would have rated it a 10. Train noise is minimal as was traffic noise. Lots of food delivery to the park. Showers were nice and hot. Will return if in the area again.
Very convenient to the casino. As stated in other reviews, it is a parking lot with RV hookups. As it was winter, it wasn't a problem. If it had been summer, it would have been unbearable. The pool (90*) and hot tub (103*) was WONDERFUL!!! The showers need doors not just a shower curtain. The casino is nice and the restaurants inside the casino are WONDERFUL. We won enough money every night to pay for the site and dinner. Will definitely be back.
Nice state park, but kind of expensive for what it offers. Lake level was very low. They only had 1 loop open due to the snow, which is also why we did not try the restrooms or showers. Getting to the park was very deceptive as you have to drive through a housing development to get there. Would stay again but hopefully, when it is warmer.
Main reason we came here was for the hot tub, found out when we arrived that it no longer works and they probably will not fix it. Would have stayed longer but after finding that out, we left the next morning. It was a good thing we still had water in the fresh tank as the park was without water for the night. Will not be back.
Campground was OK. A little tight to get around with a 40' and tow. Sites are gravel/grass. Not a lot to do here. OK for a night if passing through but not a real long term place. Will probably look for a different park next time, maybe one with a pool.
This is probably the worst KOA we have ever stayed at. No site escort, as the owner is the only worker. Sites are entirely way too tight! Roads are wide enough, but the sites are right on top of each other. Our RV has 4 slides and you could barely walk between our rig and our neighbor's coach without ducking, because the slides were about a foot from touching. The laundry room/game room was filthy. The older restrooms by the pool are in very sad shape, as is the pool. There is a newer comfort station at the other end of the campground that is nicer but, unfortunately, it has no hot water for showers. The nicer sites, which is where the shade is, are water & electric only and mostly back-in. I-40 noise was not a problem, as there is no room for you to sit outside your RV. As stated in an earlier review, the dog area is a hike, it was easier just to walk them around the new comfort station. We will not stay here again.
AVOID! Stay in a Wal-mart parking lot, you'll be better off! The manager ( I use that term VERY loosely) can't manage his temper much less an RV park. The park is soooo run down it would take a lot of $$$ and definitely new management to fix it up again. Sites are gravel, well mostly grass that hasn't seen a lawn mover in a month if not more. Shower's, Don't even get me started on those. Then the so called "Hot Tub" what a joke, 98* really??? According to "the Manager" that's OK law for old people with health problems. WHATEVER!! Got our $ back and left. Will never go back.
AWESOME! Great Park. Great Staff. Great Service. This has got to be the best park anywhere. The jacuzzi was a wonderful treat. The pool is nice. Sites are large and they rent golf carts as well as bikes, pedal carts and a pontoon boat. We came here on a whim and they were able to get us into several shows at the last minute. Next time we will be better prepared and have a full line up set up. We will definitely be back, soon I hope.
One of the better parks that we've been to in TX. Stayed a week. Very nice hot tub & pool. Laundry was unavailable as they were getting new machines but had not arrived yet. Very nice staff. We received Dish network even through the trees, which were welcome during the heat of the day. Restrooms were clean, if a bit small. It would be nice if they would fence in the dog area, but at least there is a dog area and a clean one at that. We will definitely be back.
This KOA is in rough condition. Roads are paved, but full of pot holes. Sites are gravel with a little patio at the rear of the site. Our coach is 50 amp, but because the voltage was so low in the park we could only run 1 air conditioner. We have an auto-former that helps when the park power is low, but it still couldn't pick up the power enough. The voltage meter was only reading 115 on 50 amp at the pole. Restrooms are tiny and in poor condition; didn't use them so I don't know if there was any hot water or not. The pool was closed for our stay as there was a problem with the filter, and they had to drain it. We will probably not stay here again, as we would be better off dry camping in a Wal-mart, using our generator, so we could use both a/c's. We would probably use less than $50 worth of diesel, which is what they charged per night.
Very nice park. The only issue is the fact that they want you to wear wristbands to use the pool. I understand you do not want neighborhood kids in the pool, but wristbands are not the solution. An electronic keypad on the gate with a changeable code would be much better. All the sites are paved and very large, even though the entrance and exit of the sites are a bit steep. We would camp here again.
Had a hard time giving this campground a 5. This is little more than 6 paved sites in a parking lot of an Ice Machine storage area. If there are future plan for the place, like the website states, there is no evidence of it. You must be self contained to camp here as there are no facilities. There is even a place to pay for the site, as no one came around to collect before we left, we just left it in an envelope under the welcome mat of the building, which is empty. Avoid this place unless you have family in the area, then use only as a last resort! Will not return until they "improve" it like the website says.
Great Campground. Very large RV parts center, and if they don't have what you need, they will order it for you. The only thing that was missing is a hot tub, if they had 1, I would have given this campground a 10.
Nice place. Rate reflects passport America weekly rate. The only bad thing was that they put us so far away from the hot tub. The first time we went to the hot tub it wasn't hot because there wasn't enough water in it. After we asked about that fact, they fixed it and we got to use it the next day after it had heated back up. Game room was nice, and my husband enjoyed the sauna in the fitness room. The only draw back is that there is only the 1 comfort station for a park as large as this. Wish we had had time to rent a boat & do a little fishing. We also would have liked to eat at the restaurant, but did not get a chance to. The big dog park has a small cement pond in it, and even though the water was green, my dogs loved playing in it. If they had a dog bath near that, it would have been great. Will make it a point to return.
Nice campground. People are friendly and the management is very helpful. Not close enough to the freeway to make it a convent over nighter, but lovely if you take the time to get here. Cable would definitely be a plus, but they do not have it. They do sell farm fresh eggs which is a plus in our book. Showers were clean but I could not find hot water to save my life, so we did not use them. The laundry is free or maybe you have to pay the office to use because the machines were not the commercial coin operated kind, 1 household washer & dryer. Very quiet, serene place to get away for a couple of days. Wish we had time to stay longer. Will return.
Not quite a "resort" yet, but with a little effort and some $ put into it, this could be a really good park. There is some freeway noise, but not enough to make a difference. The showers were clean, hot and had good water pressure. All the lots have a concrete pad & patio, plus each site has it's own garbage can. They have a small cable selection but was a plus for an overnight stay. There is evidence of some repairs to the property, a new roof on one of the buildings and it looks like they are fixing up an outdoor pavilion. Maybe in the future they will pave the roads in the park. We will stay again if in the area.
This park is only 2 years old and they are putting in more sites and eventually more cabins. The sites are gravel but big enough for our 40' with tow & slides. The park offers 40+ acres of trails, laundry, bathhouse, swimming pond and a fishing pond. Everyone in the park is very friendly and they even have fresh eggs for sale when the hens lay. They accept cash or check only. The park is less than 2 miles off I-77 at exit 32. This park is very nice and once they get more sites in, it will be a wonderful park. The trees and the grounds are beautiful. We will return.
Nice, quite park. Far enough away from the highway that you can't hear it, but close enough that you don't get lost getting back to it. Some permanent campers that are in sad shape, but we know not everyone is as blessed as we are. Everyone in the park is very friendly. The cable is free but you need a cable box that they will give you for a deposit, which you get 100% back when you return the box. Would stop again if in the area.
This is a good little campground. Very nice people and the park is quite, even though it is very close to I-75. We only paid for Saturday night but we were invited to a free new years day dinner before we left on Sunday at 6 pm, they did not charge for a late check out. The only thing we thought was strange was that the restrooms and showers were locked, other than that it is a great little park. We will definably stay again.
The mobile home park is a 55+ community, but the RV part allows younger adults and children. They have a heated pool, a small hot tub, laundry and shuffleboard. The restrooms and laundry were clean and had ample Hot water. The spot we stayed in was very small side-to-side, approx 15' wide, but since we were only here to visit my father, it didn't bother us, although I think we upset some of the other RV owners as they use this site and the 1 next to it as a driveway. My father says that they are trying to improve the RV sites. Rate reflects passport price. Hopefully next year when we come back, they will have them done.
It is great for an overnight or weekend stay if you don't mind unhooking you tow, they have no pull through sites. If you car is on a trailer or a dolly, you must detatch and park the dolly up front near the entrance. There is nice cable selection. It has a great hot tub and nice heated pool. The only other drawback is that the campground is sooo large but it only has 1 comfort station, with 2 toilets and 3 showers. The park is family friendly as in it has a pool but does not have a play ground, but it is close to Busch Gardens.
We have been coming back to this campground for 4 years now and I don't think we'll be back next year, unless they do some improvements. For 4 years we have watched the same things going to pot. Now they want to add more park models instead of upgrading the comfort station, which needs some tile work fixes, or adding a comfort station in the back of the park. The roads have large pot holes and the fact that the only maintenance to the sites are done by the people that rent those sites, so the transient sites are in very poor shape. They have a small bobcat on site, but the man we saw using it has no clue how to level a site.
Absolutely the BEST Luxury RV Resort we have had the pleasure to visit. Everything is sparkling clean, be it the hot tubs, pool, restrooms, dog wash station or landscaping, everything is kept beautiful. They are planning more sites, on the far side of the lake, but I hope they intend to build another comfort station there also as there is only the 1 at the entrance now. We will definitely be back.
Used to be a KOA, now private. Needs some TLC, but a nice campground overall. Sites are kind of narrow, especially with 4 slides, but we only stayed the night. We didn't need to put out our awnings. Roads are very narrow and kind of rough. Like I said, the campground, as a whole, could use some TLC. Would stay again if in the area.
Not a bad park for an overnight stop. Far enough off the highway so the noise doesn't bother you, but close enough so you don't get lost trying to get back to it. Quite, friendly people and staff. There is a pool but too cold to use. Would return again if passing through.
Absolutely wonderful park! The only reason I didn't give it a 10 is because the roads are gravel, as are all the sites, and there are no picnic tables at the sites. The pool was sparkling clean, as was the shower house and the laundry. The jacuzzi was wonderful! They had a lake but with the drought it is more like a pond now. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
Basic stop over campground. If you have a tow vehicle, there is a lot of restaurants and shopping nearby. Stable power. Large cable selection. Unfortunately, it is right on the I-10, a lot of traffic noise, as well as plane noise. Would stay again if driving through.
Busy holiday weekend. Was disappointed because we thought there was a hot tub, but it broke and was taken out, supposedly to be replaced, but not while we were there. We were not the only ones that came here for the hot tub; several others were complaining because the website was not updated to state this. The next time we are through here, I will make sure if they have replaced it before staying.
Great park. Surrounding area doesn't look like much, but the campground is wonderful. Hot tub is small, but hot & works. Pool was chilly, but nice. Showers were large and clean. The metro bus to downtown stops right in front of the office if you don't have a tow or like us, didn't want to disconnect. Nice people. Will definitely come back.
We were only passing through so we don't know about the surrounding area. Nice campground. Wish they had cable, but they have Wi-Fi, so at least we could play on the computer. The pool is a salt water pool which was too cold for me, but I bet it would feel good when it was over 100*. Showers are clean but small.
Nice stop over park. Used to be a KOA but is private now. Pool was cold and so was the hot tub, as we were only there for the night we didn't make a fuss about it. At least the showers had hot water. From the looks of the other campers, a lot are permanent, but kept in good shape. There is a stocked fishing pond but we didn't get a chance to try it.
A good campground but not luxury by far. Yes all the sites are cement, unfortunately very few of them are level. There was no hot tub (which the website stated). It has been taken out and a kiddie pool put in. For the size of this park, they do not have enough comfort stations, only 3 for a total of 12 showers. It is close to Sea World which is why we stayed here. There is shade. The roads are very narrow. Would stay again if needed, but will look for others.
Nice campground. Marina is only a boat launch & dock, we thought it would have boat rentals and tackle & bait. Hot tub was hot but the jets didn't work, from what other people have said it's been that way for a while. The lake was about 10+ feet low, but our 2 dogs enjoyed the water. The best thing this campground has going for it is Bubba's Lakeside restaurant. It is on the property but not a part of the campground. It has wonderful food at a decent price. We would stay again if in the area.
Not a bad place. Unfortunately, the permanent camper's here don't know how to conserve water, guess they don't feel the water shortage is their concern. Family friendly - there is a pool but no playground. Unfortunately the pool is up by the entrance and has no shade, a great combination for sunburn. Would stay again if passing through.
For an overnight spot, it's OK. Payment is on the honor system. There are no office hours. Billboard says "lower rates" but when you fill out the envelope, the lower rates are scratched off and a higher price is hand written in. Swimming pool needs some attention as does much of the campground. The floor in the showers are squishy, probably floor is rotted. No shade, but then again most of TX has no shade. We would stay again if passing through, but not for an extended stay.
This is a nice little campground. The lady that runs it is very nice. There is a nice playground and the restrooms are clean. There is little amenities, but if you want piece and quite, this is a great campground. There is a really good restaurant next door, but have cash as they don't accept credit cards.
We have been full time RV'ers for 3 yrs and have stayed in 21 different states and this is the first campground where you have to pay a quarter for 10 min. of water in the shower, we didn't use them. The restroom was clean but the stalls were not deep enough, the door is right in your face when you sit down, not to mention the doors could be another 2 feet lower, sitting on the toilet it doesn't even cover my knees. There are a few trees but those sites are all occupied by full timer's that live in the park. The newer sites have no grass, only gravel. We would stop here again for an overnight but not for an extended stay, not enough amenities.
95% of the park is wide open. Only the edge sites have trees. The best thing about this campground is that it is close enough off the freeway to make it a good overnight location, but off the freeway so you don't hear the traffic. 50 AMP power was good, was able to run both AC's without problems.
The park has been bought by a new couple, and they are trying to improve it. As of yet, they only have 30 AMP site but are upgrading some pull throughs to 50 AMP. The campground is clean and the people are very friendly. If you have a boat, this is a wonderful lake! We fished from our campsite and did well. If only they rented boat's this campground would be GREAT.
We stayed here last year and had a wonderful time. This time the parks power was very low, even though we paid for a 50 amp site, during the worst heat of the day we could only run 1 AC, and with no trees or shade, it was terrible. The pool was a welcome relief and we used the hot tub several evenings. We have been full time RV'ers for 3 yrs and have camped in 21 different states and this campground has THE BEST showers we have ever had the pleasure to use. They have added ice cream and snow cones in the office for purchase, which is wonderful. They continue to upgrade and hopefully they can plant some trees or figure out some shade for the sites.
This is a nice little campground, but don't expect a lot. Big Rig access, only for the ones that really want to try it. Our motorhome is 39' and the road in was a little hairy, to say the least. Park offers canoe and inner-tube float trips on Indian Creek. Has friendly staff, hot showers and you will be greeted by and hodge-podge of farm fowl, chickens, ducks, guineas, peacocks and a turkey.
Very nice park. Good fishing. The restrooms leave something to be desired and hopefully they will be addressing that soon as they are renovating alot of the resort, adding 7 new cabins and fixing the boat docks when we were there. If this park had a hot tub it would be a perfect campground. Staff and owners were very friendly and the rates for sites, boats and cabins are very reasonable. We will return.
This is a nice park. We were disappointed when we found out they had removed the hot tub for exercise equipment. Who goes camping to exercise? The water pressure was very poor because they were filling the pool while we were there and instead of only filling it at night, The manager( who was not very nice) wanted it filled right away. Not to mention it was opening 2 weeks late. So for 2 days we had very poor water pressure. The staff is nice and the park is quiet. We stayed in the premium sites up front and while walking around, found that the sites in back are kind of tight. We would return if in the area. We stayed here 3 days.
This is an ok campground if you just need a spot for the night. Unfortunately we stayed here for a week. Instead of doing lawn maintenance during the week when they were practically empty, they did it both weekends we were here. There is NOTHING to do here, even in mid August the pool was toooooo cold to swim in. It has a large playground for kids, but spray the kids down with OFF, mosquito's will carry you away.
This is by far the best campground in Texas that we've been to. The comfort stations are BEAUTIFUL! The pool and the hot tub are WONDERFUL. The only draw back is that there are very few trees, but the park is only 2 years old and the owners are planting some. There is not much for children to do, but the owners are improving that also. The web site has a virtual tour that shows everything. We stayed here for 10 days and will definitely be back. Would recommend this park to everyone.
The park itself is nice, and the new owners are trying to fix all the problems and we give them credit for that. They are very nice, but the park has a severe electrical shortage!!! When the park filled up for the Hotter Than Hell Bike Ride, the breakers kept blowing. A lot of us had problems that weekend. One motorhome ran their genny just so they could run both air conditioners. The pool, a salt water pool, is not heated. The showers were clean but had very little hot water. Might return next year, but we hope they have fixed it up.
It could use a second pool and hot tub and another comfort station in the back of the park, but otherwise a VERY nice park. Close to lots of activities for kids as well as grown ups. Would recommend to friends and family.
For an Encore park, it is by far the worst I've been to. The site we were on was without a shade tree for 3 or 4 rows. A fine golf course only 150 yds away but the ANT problem around the campsites is crazy!!! The spa had been closed by the health dept. Paid for a week left after 1 night. Will not go back until upgrades are made.
This park is OK, if all you want to do is watch cable TV. There is a swimming pool but, it was closed for the winter. It looks like there used to be a hot-tub, but it's been removed. There is a small playground for young children, but nothing here to interest teenagers. The game room is a joke, doesn't even have jigsaw puzzles much less games of any kind. The dog walk is also a joke, not only is it small, it's full of sand spurs, like most of the grass, not that there is a lot of that Not much shade either, even if the few trees had leaves. The showers are clean because nobody would use them twice. The showers barely mist, takes forever to get truly wet. All the sites are gravel, the whole park is gravel, all have picnic tables and some have b-b-q grills but their used for campfires not cooking. Laundry prices are deceiving, $1.25 to wash $1 to dry except it takes 2 or 3 cycles to get the clothes dry. As for the park being QUIET, what a joke!!! Non stop airplanes from sun up to sun down. The air force has a practice strip not a mile away and they fly straight over the park at low altitudes. Will not stay here again, unless it's only for a stop over.
