We spend 3 nights at this park to visit family. Not much to do at the park but the sites were paved and grounds were manicured. Sites alternated pull in and back in. Very friendly lady in the office. When the trees mature this campground will be as cool as you can get in Texas! On a busy road but noise was not a problem. Burger King was next door and Dairy Queen across the street. We would stay here again if in the area.
Just got back from Ocean Lakes after a week's stay. This campground has everything you could want to do. The only problem is the golf carts. People don't want to walk anywhere and they all have golf carts. Was a problem when walking my dog. The cg was full on the weekend but not so much during the week (prefer the week time). The interior roads to the campsites were tight. All sites were pull throughs, some with concrete pads for an additional charge. Ocean front meant going over a sand dune to get to the ocean. Speed limit (10mph) was for the most part enforced but most drove around 15mph and was not a problem. We will definitely stay here again.
Chose this park due to this site. We had a concrete pad and patio next to the bath house. Site was large because of being next to the bath house. Some sites were small and unpaved. Looked like some sites in the back had just been dug out of the trees. Dust was bad on entrance road and through the campground. Needed rain badly! Pool was nice as well as the laundry room. Didn't use the game-room. Bathhouse was being remodeled but was clean. Gentleman cleaning about 10:30 one night. Not a lot in the store but we had a car to go get anything we needed. Easy to get to all local sites from this park. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others. We will definitely be back when returning to Williamsburg.
Park has lots to do including indoor pool, game room, playground, putt putt (old and in need of updating), tennis, basketball, shuffle board and just wide open spaces and fishing. Only problem was staff very unfriendly. Only saw 2 smile during the whole visit. Staff not kid friendly. Maybe it was their off week, don't know. However, we won't be back. Campfires allowed only in elevated containers.
Just spent 4 days at this SP with grandchildren. Kids enjoyed the playground and bicycle riding as well as fishing (even though none were caught). Out of 5 bathouses I know the two I went into were clean. They are rather old but are kept pretty clean. No AC but did have exhaust fans and wall heaters for winter. We love the sections by the lake. This trip we stayed in B section with sewer because of our kids. No sewer sites near the lake available but next time we will get next to the lake regardless of sewer availability. Deer came into the campground and I even saw a gentleman feeding one by hand. Not something the campground encourages. Tennis courts, basketball courts and volleyball courts on site. Large sandy beach area for swimming and several docks for fishing. We got good satellite reception. We will definitely return.
Spent "trade day" week-end here. We love this park. Staff very friendly. Kids are allowed to be more free with their actions now to which I do not agree. Parents seem to think because it has security or because it is so rustic, they can just let their children run wild. Almost got hit by several bicycles while there. Cars going into campground 3 wrong way and they didn't care it's plainly posted. What happened to common courtesy?? Best time to go is during the week after school starts. Very quiet and restful at that time. Some don't pick up after their pets but some do just like other parks. The park is wonderful but not all the patrons!
Spent 5 nights with grandchildren here. Bought Mountain Pass(12 months) for park attractions. That way we didn't have to see everything in one or two days. Kids loved Treehouse, obstacle course, and Big Barn. Also 4-d theater was a big hit! All staff was friendly. Had a storm come through on 4th but was cleaned up in a couple of days. Trees down everywhere in campground. Several campers totaled but no injuries. Ours got a tree limb through roof. Rustic campground. Some have cement pads but most do not. We had site 351 and had plenty of room. Pretty good local programming with antenna. We will definitely return. Not too far from Turner Field.
