First off; this park got the highest "Good Sam" rating. Sorry - this is nowhere near accurate. Weeded, unlevel, loose gravel sites. Bathrooms barely clean. It's OK if you try to stay one night, provided you don't mind an extremely loud train whistle every couple of hours throughout the night, and on Thursday night, "local" campers drive in and take over the park. Local campers pulled in and aggressively and rudely instructed us to move because we were in "their" site. Shockingly, the teenage staff told us to move. The park was nowhere near full at the time. The local riffraff had no respect for other campers who had honestly paid for the site, and the staff had no intention of honoring our implied contractual quiet enjoyment of the site we paid for. After 5pm, there is no staff to be found; this is when outside people take advantage of the parks amenities which leaves this park dangerously insecure. My wife and I had to start driving away in the late afternoon as a storm was rolling in. There's more, but I should stop there. Good Sam is usually accurate, however, they are way off on this one. Avoid this park at all costs!
Can't say enough nice things about this park. All the staff is friendly and helpful. It has a great little social area where the Thursday night steak dinners are served. The owner gives you tips on the best restaurants and the most scenic rides. Extremely clean restrooms and showers. Cabins are available. It's in a quiet, peaceful setting just off the highway. Can't recall what Good Sam's rating was, but this park should be all 10's. Don't pass this park up. We will definitely go back.
