What a beautiful surprise: a state campground that accommodates big rigs in most ways. The sites are plenty long but a bit narrow for popouts on each side on some of the pull-through sites. Everything is well maintained and they actually check and clean up your site before you pull in. They even have a clean and very reasonable laundry. Regarding the rate, they use Reserve America which adds $10 to the cost. If you're staying during the week there's a good chance you can drive up and get a full hook-up site for only $24 plus the $7 daily entrance fee. If you don't need sewer hookup, it's only $20 for a elec/water site. Call the campground directly and ask what your chances are of driving up and getting a site before calling the reservation number. We would certainly stay here again.

Nice surrounding views and this park is convenient to the interesting visitor center across the street. There are virtually no 50 amp spots that are accessible to big rigs. OK for spending the night but park is beginning to show lack of maintenance. Restroom/shower was not inviting. If you stay, try the ice cream at the next door gas station. AT&T air card didn't work.

This is a friendly, well maintained RV park in the center of many activities. Pool and restrooms are sparkling. Free downtown shuttle is close by and runs all the time. Call ahead for site availability. Not all sites will accommodate big rigs. We stayed here in a 40-ft rig. Rate is with Good Sam discount. Staff is very helpful. Will be coming back.

What a little gem of a park. We were here in big rigs (40 and 43) but got by fine on 30 amps in back-in sites. It's well maintained with immaculate restrooms and laundry and a soothing lawn. We checked other Lake Almanor locations, and this was the best. We had planned for 7 days and stayed 12. There is a train track nearby, but after the fist day it became a point of interest rather than a nuisance. The seasonal guests were very friendly and welcoming. And you can't beat the owner for energy, helpfulness, enthusiasm and personality. We'd certainly come back: just to see him. Big rig sites are few so call ahead. AT&T cell service worked but Verizon was spotty.
