I reviewed this park last year after one visit and gave it a good rating. Unfortunately, 1st impressions aren't always correct. I went back in the spring and the grass needed cutting and the swimming pond was very muddy. I blamed it on spring rains. It's now October and I just returned from the campground. The grass still needs cutting and the pond was horrible. I also found the owners less than pleasant this time. They seem to cater to certain campers at the expense of others, although everyone is charged the same rate. Needless to say I will not be returning.
This is a great CG. The dog run was very large and the campground was dog friendly (they were even allowed in the office.) We didn't find traffic to be as bad as reviews had stated in getting out. The sites were wide and the CG was clean and quiet.
I have nothing put praise for this campground. After leaving, our towed vehicle broke loose. My daughter went back to the campground where a camp worker went out of his way to assist her. We made it home with no more problems. We'd definitely return here.
Would recommend this CG to anyone staying in Asheboro. It was close to everything, but very quiet. It was very clean and the staff exceedingly helpful. In fact we were called home a day early and they refunded our money.
This was by far our favorite camping experience. Before we left, my husband was wanting to know when we could go back for a week rather than just a weekend. Our dogs had a great time! The campground was imaculate, the planned events were great, and Birgit and Meik (the owners) were friendly, helpful, and very involved in making sure everyone, human and canine, had a good time. It was also a quiet campground with no crying children heard. All in all a great experience and campground.
Campsites were overpriced for their size. When our car was parked I had to exit it under our neighbors' slide-out. While the "poop stations" were convenient when walking our dogs, there was very little space for walking them. The crowded conditions outweighed the clean campground and friendly staff. We would not stay here again.
This is a clean, dog friendly campground. There was a very large, well equipped dog playground that my dogs and I both loved. The campground was clean and shaded. We stopped overnight on our way south and liked it so well we arranged to overnight there again on our way back north.
What a great little campground. No real amenities (a sewer hookup would have been nice), but the camp sites were very large and private. The campground was very quite. We could hear the little stream we backed up to gurgling in the night. Plenty of places to walk our dogs. Convenient to Cherokee and surrounding attractions. We had so much fun we extended our stay an extra night.
Loved this campground! We took our granddaughter for the weekend and she had a great time. We can't wait for camping season to start again so we can go back. Nice size camping space and lots of room to walk our dogs.
