We stayed only one night, but I really liked the easy in and out of these sites. They are all gravel but pretty level. The only issue is that we arrived after a large rain storm and they put us in one of the only sites that was flooded. Aside from this everything was perfect.
The staff are friendly and the sites are very easy in and out. The park is located strategically between Savannah and Hilton Head. It is a fairly new park and I was expecting so much more. The sites are hard packed sand and many are not level, sloping downward at the front half of most sites. The grass is patchy and mostly sand. You will track the equivalent of a small beach back into your RV. The store is stocked with a handful of snacks with mostly empty shelves; no RV supplies of any kind. There is a gun club and train track in the distance, neither being that frequent or bothersome. I get the feeling that this park was never completed. But it's okay because it's in a good spot. You're just not going to want to hang out here.
I'm not sure why everyone makes such a big fuss over this park. It is very nicely manicured and kept up, has convenient curbside trash pickup every weekday, and has reasonably large sites that are easy to get in and out of. But the park is predominantly permanent mobile homes with long-term residents. They're reasonably friendly for the most part but they don't have anything in common with us "travelers". I kind of feel like an outsider with their clique. The lake view is nothing to get worked up about. It's barely a pond but there are a couple of alligators swimming about. The office hours are only 9-4 on weekdays and more limited on weekends...making it sometimes inconvenient to get your packages or fax if you need to. But overall it is a very nice park with nice amenities, lots of activities scheduled, and solid utilities with great water pressure. Cable TV is kind of stupid and I'm told Wi-Fi is horrible but I just use our AT&T hotspot with no issues.
This park is a perfect 10 is almost every regard. The only reason I didn't give it that is due to very low water pressure at times and some tight and narrow sites in some places (ours was a very spacious super lot, so no problems). The park is beautiful, very well maintained, with lots of amenities. There are many activities that are very actively participated in. There is a large staff keeping things going, and they are all wonderful. A 1-mile paved path circles the park and is great for walking and biking (a little bumpy in places with a small wheeled bike). The park is perfectly located for going anywhere between Ft. Lauderdale to the Keys. The overall experience here is wonderful and you will definitely want to come back.
I had high expectations before arriving at this RV park since it is, after all, Disney. And I wasn't disappointed. From reading prior reviews I was also prepared for narrow roadways and tight maneuvering to back into the site and, again, I wasn't disappointed. It is a little tight but we really had no problem backing our 42' motorhome in. We had a premium site and there was lots of vegetation between sites so we felt like we had a reasonable amount of privacy. There are a couple of stores (trading posts) on the grounds which carry some basic supplies and, of course, souvenir gifts. A bus service operates to both take you to points within the campground and to the various theme parks outside of the campground. Sites are wide and utilities were perfect. There are numerous trash receptacles on every road located with steps of each site and the trash is picked up multiple times daily. A great stay!
This is a case where one huge negative was more than made up for by a ton of positives. The big negative is that this park is extremely tight in many spots. We had trouble getting our 42' RV into our site and got stuck in the soft sand doing so. But once we squeezed ourselves in then our 1-1/2 week stay was wonderful! The staff is terrific, the residents are some of the friendliest we have found, the amenities are in great shape, and there are lots of fun activities planned for almost every day. It is located beside the Little Manatee River and you can occasionally spot a manatee or even a dolphin (we're told). This is a pretty little RV park and well worth the effort to cram your RV into. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The best thing about this park is that the sites are almost all pull-thrus with easy ingress/egress. It is conveniently located directly off of I-95. Others have mentioned highway noise as an issue but we have barely noticed it. It is located almost adjacent to JAX airport and there is intermittent airplane traffic which we did not find that bothersome. The staff is very friendly. They pick up your garbage every morning right at your site...a big convenience. The Flea Market next door is open on the weekends and not a bad way to kill a couple of hours. The only negatives here were weak WiFi service and a lack of activities and amenities.
