This was a fantastic CG. Very clean restrooms and showers. Showers had plenty of hot water and were quite large so we weren't bumping walls getting dressed. Camp sites were medium in size and a section was paved for our camper. Site had lots of poison ivy which is the reason for a loss of star. I don't want to kill off the plants, but I was constantly worried about the kids. Camp hosts were knowledgeable and friendly. We used 30amp electric. Roads are nicely paved so we enjoyed riding bikes even though it rained for a bit each day.

We camped here over Memorial Weekend so we knew ahead of time that we were going to deal with a large crowd, but the sites here were very close to each other and we felt claustrophobic. Our slide was literally touching our neighbor's awning so they had to retract it a bit. We let the kids play at the "beach" but the small pond looked disgusting so we kept them out of the water. Throughout the whole weekend we felt like we were watching Jerry Springer on location of a Nascar event. There is mini golf available for $2.50/person which was cute. Pedal carts were avail for $4/30 minutes. Firewood was $5 for a nice size bundle. Elec/water/sewer was perfect. It had been raining a ton recently so the place was a giant mud pit. Vehicles and campers were getting stuck, tents were literally floating, and the playground was underwater. The roads are dirt and uneven so the kids couldn't ride if they had training wheels or tricycles. Mother Nature can't be controlled, but if you're going, watch the weather first. This CG is within 30 minutes of Frakenmuth and Birch Run.

Used this CG as a home base to visit the Shipwreck Museum, Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinac Island, Soo Locks, and more all within an hour. CG was very clean and the staff was pleasant and informed. Sites closest to water are the windiest and coldest but offer the best view. Sites along woods are not any more buggy. A slide was the only playground equipment. Roads were paved and great for bike riding. Bathrooms were older but very clean. Just enough trees to be rustic but spaced enough for the MHs around us to use satellite. We plan on staying here again.

Campground and area is extremely hilly: too dangerous and difficult for casual bike rider. Our site backed to woods and poison ivy. We had to stay on the pet loop: majority of owners didn't stop their dogs from barking. The area of CG that backs to stream had an overwhelming mosquito population. Hiking trails were not well groomed or marked. Firewood only available on weekends: park staff building was a 5 minute drive from CG. Water spigots were sporadic and few: dump station clean and easy to access. Playground was just ok. Swimming lake had a gorgeous view but the beach wasn't very nice and the water was murky. We would not camp here again.

Excellent! The larger of the 2 playgrounds looks very new and the equipment rivals any I've ever seen. We were on the loop further away from the office but will aim for the ones backing up to the playground next time. The sites were clean and well kept although we wished there were more trees. Our kids also enjoyed fishing and riding their bikes on the paved roads. Overall the entire CG from top to bottom was very clean. The office staff was very well informed and helped us decide what to do in the area as there is so much to choose from. We're from Michigan but will be making the drive here again next season. On a side note, make sure you have your passports: the US side of the falls is a waste of time while the Canadian side is great.

If we could have checked out early and received a partial refund we would have but their policy doesn't allow it. Instead we took day trips around the area which has many gorgeous natural attractions. We thought this campground resembled more of a trailer park than a campground or RV resort. As you drive in you pass by their "pond" which is overgrown, swampy, and stinks. My kids were disappointed because they thought they would be able to fish in it. Many permanent residents don't take care of their lot. The "pool" was a large dip in the ground that has been cemented which we avoided. Much of the playground equipment was broken but there were so many bees nesting we avoided it anyhow. The roads are all dirt/gravel and between the potholes and mud my kids couldn't ride their bikes. The water pressure was too low to take showers with so we had to fill the fresh tank and run the pump. I rated it a 2 instead of 1 because I appreciated the amount of trees and the staff was very nice. Their web site looks great but the place left much to be desired.

To stay here, loving children is a must! This CG is geared around the kids with activities available around the clock and impressive play structures. Most sites were grassy, shaded, and level. Be prepared to pay extra for the activities - the outdoor pool (heated by God) is free though! There is only one dump station so it may be a good idea to take them up on their Honey wagon service for $5. I rated the park at a seven because I felt for the price we paid we should have received more (sewer/cable/wireless/etc) and could use a bit of modernizing/fixing up.
