Campground is older but has nice cabin, restrooms, and the laundry is being upgraded. People are friendly and we got an invite right away for the July 4th activities. The previous review is on target. We stayed a week and were very pleased.
We love this park. The park is in Central time and the office is on Eastern time, so have to pay attention when the gate is locked. We stayed by the lake but there are other sites that are good too. There's fishing and water activities and a small playground for the kids. It's well worth the trip to stay. Be sure you have groceries--it's a few miles to get to nearest food source.
A great park for a few nights. The parking is close but no problems getting in and out with the pull-through sites. We stayed two nights. The pool was nice and so was the clubhouse and showers. The lake is great for a walk around and the ducks and fishing is perfect for a feeling of nature. We'll be back.
My sister lives a few miles down the road, so we stay a week or two at a time. The previous comments are true, but thought I'd do an update for 2012. The roads in are very rough, but the owners don't want a lot of speeders due to grandkids playing on a playground in the area of the RV sites. The WI-FI is great. The owners are very helpful if you need something.
We stay in this park every time we're in the area. It's very clean and has a river for fishing and canoeing. There's space between the sites so it's comfortable. All the previous reviews are true so won't elaborate. Great for families and those that like to camp in a tent.
We love this campground. It's close to all the tourist areas and downtown Louisville. We did the Bourbon Trail and the wine tour for the county. The flea market has a great veggie stand on weekends so we stocked up. It's very quiet even with I-65 nearby. Highly recommended to stay to see the area. The sites are close, but worth it.
The park is right off highway 20. It's very quiet with helpful and friendly staff. The park has play area, pool and miniature golf. Wal-Mart and restaurant is on each side. It's a great park to do some sightseeing in Dubuque (Field of Dreams) and Galena with great views and shopping. We will stay again when we're in the area.
We liked this park. It's being built with something being added almost daily. It's a 10 year project to sell the sites for those over 55 as a seasonal. There's no amenities as of this date. It's very quiet and well worth a few days stay. The nearest town with anything that's needed is 15 miles to Albert Lea. The owner knows not all sites will sell, so nightly, weekly or monthly will be available. We will stay again.
We loved this camp site. There were three TV stations we could get from the antenna. The food at the casino was excellent. The bathhouse was very clean. We would stay here again anytime we're in the area.
We liked this campground and found it very clean. There are several sites for transients with full hookups. The bathroom was clean and very nice. We stayed 3 nights and would do it again. We were on the lake front. There's a big play area for the kids and swimming area.
This is a wonderful park for the outdoors type people. The Mattawa river runs past the park with two swimming areas. It has play areas for children. Sites have both trees or no trees. Wonderful friendly couple are the owners. Wi-Fi is at the picnic table in front of the office only. Satellite will be hard to get if the site is in the trees. We are from the USA so our dish would not get reception. The town is very small but does have grocery. Campfires are OK.
This park has updated to 50amp full hookup sites, big rig pull through sites recently. They are open from May-Oct. There's a restaurant on the grounds along with small store that stocks every Friday. There's a large play area for baseball or frisbies and a small playground for the children. Everything is very clean and updated. We will stay again when coming through the area.
Great staff. The big rigs should park in the upper back section. The pool has just been added and very nice. The site we're in is very unlevel and all sites are gravel. It's very clean and close to many Amish restaurants and sights in the Amish area. We will come back again.
The previous review says it all. I wanted to update the review with friendly staff and there's a lot of camping equipment you can buy or rent in the office. It's great for visiting DC or the area. We'll come again.
Great friendly management. Wonderful area and very close to shopping and eating places. Park was empty except for a few people will fill in Jan-Mar. The spaces are close together, but that doesn't bother us. There's something to do all the time and great friendly people to socialize with when you want. We'll stay for six months.
This is just a place to stay that is decent and safe. The owner is very helpful and gave us several suggestions on activities and places to eat and see. It's a mobile home park converting to RV park. No bathhouse or amenities. You must be self contained. We will stay here again.
We stayed 5 weeks in site 1. Has full 50amp hookups. Owners are great and will help in anyway possible, including having people bring out propane. There's a dump on site if needed. Has new restrooms and laundry. They have owned the campground one year and trying to bring it up to higher standards. The lake has a trampoline which makes it a lot of fun for all ages. Kids playground is great too. We will stay here often while visiting family in Chicago.
Wonderful park. It had flooded twice in June 2010, but when we got here July 5, there was no sign of flooding conditions. The cement pads are level and big with a picnic table. It's not the easiest to back into since the pads are straight instead of angled with a tree right where you need to turn. That was the only downside. The managers and hosts are very helpful and friendly. We'll come here a lot, it's on the way from NC to Chicago. We stayed a week.
This is a very busy place for long stays, so we had to move often to stay 60 days. We also had to leave for 2 weeks to continue the two months. We're here for family soit is very convenient. There's a dump site, laundry, shower. They're clean but not excellent. It's great for the St. Louis area, and being on base it's safe. You need your own internet connection like MIFI.
Very clean. Rules are enforced. It's a mobile home park with six (6) RV sites. NO shower building or restrooms. We stayed two months and will be back. Very friendly owner and will help anyway he can to make you comfortable. Only one other RV near us during our stay. Very spacious sites with cement slab and flat gravel area for the RV.
