A very nice peaceful and scenic campground next to the reservoir. Bathrooms were of an older style, but well maintained. Cannot beat the price as was given the old person discount.

Gravel pads within a nice forest setting. Clean modern toilet/shower combinations in individual units. Peaceful quiet campground with close access to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Finding where to check in was unclear, at least to me. Either I missed the sign, or it was not there. Anyway, just keep driving on and on until you run out of road down by the lake at the marina. Excellent sites and the very nice ranger said "I'll give you the best site in the park...#64" and he wasn't kidding. Private back in lakeside setting. Beautiful sunset over the waters.

The name of this park made me a bit wary but I took a chance anyway. The couple running it were the nicest people. Why they even provide you a place to sit down while filling in your registration paper. Individual restroom/bath set-up, old but taken care of. A lot of permanent residents who seemed to be workers in the area, but they were quiet and no problem. In fact, were entertaining to watch. Parked on the grass as I believe all the sites were that way. Would stay here again without hesitation.

This was a neat campground. You felt like you were in a tropical jungle. The sites were close to each other, but thick with vegetation between each that you were unaware of your neighbor. At least this was how it was at the end sites 54-67. Nice restroom/shower facilities. Pricey but you are getting atmosphere for your dollar.

Had a nice lakeside spot under lots of shade trees. Very friendly check-in lady. Did not use the facilities so cannot report on them, but at $10 with my old person's discount you can't beat that.

Shady, by the lake and quiet if you stay in the first loop 1-27 away from the boaters and jet skiers. Good showers, but the toilets have no seats - part of the design of the toilet-weird.

Wide open, no shade, gravel sites with grass in between, lots of space between spots. Nice shower and bathroom facilities. Super nice folks.

Windswept, flat, open, no shade. Awesome bath/shower in individual units with HOT water and good flow. High intensity Wi-Fi connection and they'll even make a pizza for you. I'll stay here again next time in the neighborhood.

You check in by phone (they provide one) there in the laundromat. Kind of weird, made all the more so with the flat screen TV blaring some mindless daytime talk show in the background. Very clean newish bath/shower combo one unit per sex. Places to eat nearby within walking distance. A good choice for the night.

Quiet lakeside spot under lots of shade trees. Could be iffy for big coaches and large 5th wheelers working your way through the trees on the bumpy uneven roads. Only half the bath/shower facilities were open and the water could have been warmer. I was there early in the season so it may be better later on. I'd stay there again for the night.

Nice place to stay for a one night stop over; you don't have much choice as it is about the only place around. Bath and showers were a bit rough. Think of the old gasoline service stations and you get the idea. You check in at the Catfish restaurant next door which now I wish I had ate dinner there.

Tight spaces which made me glad I am only 24 feet long and not towing anything. No Wi-Fi for some reason. Highway noise was there but the bird noise drowned it out. Free breakfast at the Best Western the next morning.

Owned by a nice old man whose grandparents settled on this land which is still dirt and grass. Bath was old and well used but fine. Iffy Wi-Fi that comes and goes but the I-40 noise is there to stay. Would stay there again.

I was very glad I selected this park to camp in. What a gem. The peace and solitude of the desert in a well planned out campground. Each spot has a strategically placed tree to provide some respite from the late afternoon desert sun. Give them time and these trees will be perfect, but they're still young and do their best. Super great restroom/shower accommodations. I am remembering this place for sure the next time I pass through.

A very nice park. The check-in process was unclear. Sign read to see host before selecting site. I did so and it seemed I was the only one that followed the rules as they were unprepared for my knock. He told me "Oh, I'd come by to collect". Also it seems Missouri won't cut you an old person discount until you're really old - age 65. Restroom/showers were very nice but a bit of a hike to get to if you're camped at the other end as I was. You'll like this park.

This park is top-notch. I rated 1 below a perfect 10 only because if it were isolated and away from traffic noise, that would have been 10. Very nice folk that own and run the place. Showers are individual rooms with a toilet and even with a sanitary paper bath mat to step out upon from the shower - like a fancy hotel. Wow! If you are disappointed with this place, put a For Sale sign on your rig and stay home.

Small funky little RV park with about the nicest, funniest park owner I have ever come across. Owner is an old broken down rodeo cowboy who alone makes your stay at Blue Spruce memorable. Single unit shower/toilet set-up was very nice and cleaner than any I have ever seen of this vintage. Ideal for an over nighter. I originally rated it 7 because of the age but bumped it up to 8 because of the friendly super nice cowpoke owner.

I stayed in the first campground (Alice Lake?) which could be an issue with rigs longer than my 24' View. Tight turns. I believe the next camp further into the canyon is more suited for the longer set-ups, but not sure. Few if any of the spots are spot on level. Pit toilets only. The showers are inconveniently located a mile and a half back down the road across from the visitor center. Camp host lady was friendly and came up with clip board in hand. Easy check in.

If you are looking for peace and solitude, this is the place. It is way out in the far reaches of No Man's Land. Have all that you need with you and enjoy your stay. It's a great place to get away from it all.

I don't know how the previous reviewer could give this place a 9. A lot must have happened downhill in one year. I changed the pet friendly rating to NO. Although they have a sign that pets must be on a leash, it is not enforced. People walk their dogs off leash and we were faced with an upsetting encounter with one of the violators. The restrooms look like left-overs from the 50's. The showers were nasty. Watch your step on the way to the restroom for the grassy area in front is a minefield of dog waste. I couldn't get out of this place fast enough in the morning. It was still dark when we pulled out.

I wasn't too clear on where to go and how to select and pay for a site. Had to ask a camper who said "Just pick anything and the ranger will come by and take your money" and he did about 15 minutes later. Quiet place but be careful of the goathead/bullthorn stickers on the ground. These things are off the chart in sharpness and difficulty in removing. Watch your step.

Other reviewers pretty much said it all except, they said the trains weren't a problem. My goodness! Train after train came through town and they continually blow the horn from one end of town to the other, non-stop. Bring ear plugs if you want a half-way decent night's sleep. I came during some big fair event yet still was able to get a spot. Yes, you are close to your neighbor but it was fine nonetheless and I'd stay here again, for A night. My Garmin GPS didn't know where it was but I used the tracking device on my iPad to get me there. Good luck in finding it.

Good place for a one night stand and the price is right. Other reviews talk about it being muddy, but I came during the draught so water wasn't a problem. Local traffic and railroad nearby, but it didn't seem bad at night, plus I wear earplugs when I sleep. No picnic tables and only a few sites provided any shade.

This is a great COE campground and the fee reflects my "old person card" discount. Lots of shady sites to choose from and the restrooms and showers were great! Quiet and nice. There are 2 other COE campgrounds on the lake and don't know about them. I didn't feel like driving across the dam for one of them so picked the below dam one. You'll like it.

I know where the park's name comes from since it was a "Marvel" I found the place. My GPS brought me in the back way, but upon leaving I left what was the correct entrance off of Main St. Price has gone up since the other reviews but that is to be expected. It is quiet and maybe a third of the sites offer shade depending where the sun is. The restrooms/showers involved a bit of a hike but were OK. I'd rate it higher but some long-term residents detracted from the setting.

A beautiful park with fresh new facilities. I just did an overnighter so didn't have the opportunity to fully explore this park. They have moved the campground and my GPS and iPad didn't know where the new entrance was. If you come in from the south (Alma) just keep going north on Hwy 71 and watch for the very few signs that there are. I guess the old campground use to be below the dam but is no more. You won't be disappointed with this one.

As the other reviewer states, this is an OK park. I was just grateful to have a place to stay with the Labor Day weekend beginning. My overall assessment would be to call it "rustic". Had a nice shady spot and did not use the primitive showers.

This place was ok until I went to use the restroom/shower facility, nestled in among the resident trailer park. There is a single shower and toilet for each sex. While using the shower I noticed half of the cinder block removed in order for two small half inch water lines to feed the showers. I bent over to look and could see the washing machine in the laundry room. "Mommy, there's a man taking a shower." No, it didn't happen but well could have. The pipes exited the other side into the women's half. I wondered what was visible. When done I checked out the women's. Remember only one at a time in the room so I knew it was safe to go in. Well the view would be of a woman sitting on the toilet, not in the shower. I decided to check out the women's shower. It was the most disgusting, nasty looking shower I have ever seen. Black scum and mold creeping up the cinder block walls and flimsy scuzzy shower curtain. The thick black rubber mat on the floor blended right in. It was beyond belief. If I were a woman I'd use the men's for at least it was a somewhat clean fiberglass stall. I won't go into how foul their office smelled. Stay in this park ONLY if you plan to use your bathroom. Better yet, go the few miles further on into Springfield.

Cannot add much to the other reviews, this is a great park to have as a base operation to go see all the Bridges of Madison County. Walk from camp and you check one bridge off the list right there. One of the best city park campgrounds I've stayed at.

I arrived after it had been abused and ransacked by the Labor Day weekend hoard so it was a bit worn. I am sure it looks nice most all of the year otherwise. It was nice and quiet with lots of shade. If you back in to spots, the electric is on the wrong side so be sure to have a real long cord as the power supply is out there a ways in some cases. Be sure to visit the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake where Buddy Holly played his last gig.

Signage leading to park is minimal to non-existant. Camp registration procedure was confusing - I wasn't the only one as another couple was standing there scratching their heads too. Camp spots poorly marked. If you camp in view of the dognut style lake, be prepared for the constant roar of speedboats and jet-skiers going around and around and around... I camped away from the mayhem only to contend with the locals speeding back and forth on the dirt road. Had to shut windows to keep the dust out. Didn't use the restrooms for they were a good hike away. I'd never make it in time. There is no place else to stay in Bridgeport that I know of so...good luck.

Imagine camping in a drive-in movie theatre, this is it. Several long rows of power supply boxes all in a straight line. Best check-in ever. He took my $18 and said "go wherever you want". No name, address, license plate number, nothing. That was great. Restrooms were clean and showers spacious. Has laundry and RV dump. It is what the name says, a trap and skeet shooting range. The Interstate is off in the distance (the shooters were aiming at them, not you the camper) and the traffic noise was audible. Just think of it as 'white noise". No shade as it is wide-open. Being Labor Day weekend and only two other campers were there. Cool!

This is a very nice State Park and I cannot add anymore to what the other reviewer stated except...the park ranger in the kiosk booth upon noticing I had travelled all the way from California, worked me in even though the park was reserved out for the upcoming Labor Day weekend. Wow, that was nice! I just had to leave the next morning before noon and that was my plan anyway. A great place!

This is a nice little park south of Lemmon on State Route 73 near Shadehill Reservoir. I had the place all to myself although every spot was reserved for the upcoming Labor Day weekend. Pit toilets were very clean. Nice shade trees with level spots all. Only bad thing was I thought we were next to the local dog pound just on the other side of the trees. The next morning when leaving I drove over there and discovered it was the neighbor's hunting hound dogs imprisoned in a chain link enclosure. The slightest anything set them off baying and howling. One evening of that was enough.

Had the campground nearly all to myself. Good showers with a wide spray. Needed that since the humidity along the Missouri River was more than this California boy could handle. Would stay here again - the humidity isn't the park's fault. I just wonder why the previous reviewer paid $4 less than I did.

This park campground is in the middle of Nowhere Nebraska. I was tired and grateful it was there. Cody is a small little town of 150 so give them credit for trying and having this campground availible. It was unmarked spots, just back onto the grass to leaning power supply poles. The train tracks were a stone's throw away. The showers were...there, and if you don't like wasps or mud daubers, you will not be taking any shower. Yes, I would stay again because where else would one go? Turn off Hwy 20 onto Cherry Street, go one block and turn left onto the gravel road. Spots will be on your right, pick one, put $15 in the enevelope and relax. Nice City Park right behind you.

Friendly check-in person which is nice after a long days drive. Hey, they even give free coffee and cookies. Can't beat that. The showers were a bit tired though, yet I would stay here again.
