I am afraid this "resort" gets the award for the worst campground we have stayed at-ever! First of all, it is NOT a resort, basically a bunch of campsites set in a pine thicket with a bar in the middle. Most people who were there were full time 'summer people'. The road getting there is very, very crooked and narrow, not big rig friendly at all. When I checked in, I asked if they had clean, hot showers, 'oh yes', the lady proprietor assured me. We decided not to unhook to go back down the very crooked road to town to get a bite to eat, so elected to eat at the bar. Very expensive food that was ok at best. We later wished we'd just gone back to town for a meal. The 'clean showers' were a joke, two unisex rooms with a toilet, sink and open shower(no shower curtain), tacked onto the back of the bar. Someone had seen fit to steal all the toilet tissue, so had to provide our own. Apparently the 'full timers' living there use them as their own, as their personal toiletries were scattered all over shower room. Floor was bare concrete, and nasty, nasty, nasty. I hated to even sit my shower bag on the floor, particularly since the entire floor gets wet from the open shower. Overall, just a awful, nasty experience for what I had been assured was a 'very clean, hot shower' by the proprietor. We couldn't wait to get up the next morning and get out of there and find something better. Definitely not worth the price they charge to stay at the 'resort'.
This is a nice, well kept campground ran by the city of Dawson, located in the beautiful city park, and is adjacent to the very nice city swimming pool. Park has numerous places to picnic, ride bikes on bike paths, play ball and bar b que. We stayed here several days and enjoyed the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. They have nice showers/restrooms available that were mostly clean, though mosquitoes were always present while showering. They utilize a self pay system, with pay envelopes in a box mounted on the side of the building on the way to the showers. Very easy to use as long as you have cash. Overall, a nice clean, quiet park that was a pleasure to stay at. We look forward to staying again when in the area.
We stayed one night over the 4th of July weekend, even though full to capacity, campground was very quiet and peaceful. Staff was very friendly and went out of the way to accommodate our needs. We were VERY impressed with the showers. Unlike many state park showers/restrooms which can be buggy and not so clean, the facilities at this park were spotless. The showers were well laid out and secure, had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Most of all, was nice to not have to deal with all the bugs that seem to end up in most state park restrooms/showers. In a truly enchanting, very GREEN setting by the river, with lots of paved places to ride bikes throughout the park. It is just a beautiful park that we look forward to visiting again.
This park is situated on a small hill, the sites are very narrow, and all are back in sites. The sites are rather short, so you are forced to unhook from your trailer to place your pulling/tow vehicle next to your unit even though there is very little room. The park is made up of mostly full timers, which means that all the spaces near the office/showers are taken. So only the spaces at the bottom of the hill are available for RVers who are just passing through. It makes for quite a hike up the hill to use the facilities. The managers who checked us in were very helpful and friendly, taking the time to show us around the well equipped lounge and the shower area. The showers consist of a couple of toilet stalls, a communal sink area and one shower room, which is a pay shower. For the $30 a night price, we found that to be a little ridiculous, not to mention the wait if the one shower is occupied. This is the only RV park in Snowflake, which is a nice little western town. We had planned to stay 3 nights, but left after the second night, even though we had paid in advance, to find something better on down the road. We did use our PA card, which made the price a little easier to accept. The golf course was down a weedy path along the highway next door. And though 'pet friendly' there was really nowhere to take the dog out, so we ended up walking them across the road in the weeds. Wish someone would open another park in the area. It's a nice area with lots to do and great summer weather, but this park doesn't exactly make one want to stick around!
Very nice, well maintained park, There are a handful of full timers staying here, but their sites/units are very well kept up and quiet. Owners were very friendly and helpful at check in, making sure we had everything we needed. The manager even walked out to the sites (on a VERY windy and cold day), to help us get our camper backed in. Park was very quiet and felt safe. Had a place in the back of park to walk the pooch. Showers were absolutely immaculate, very well maintained with plenty of hot water, and nicely heated. They had a access code for the door, which made one feel safer when in the shower alone at night. Overall a nice, clean park for a pleasant, quiet stay.
A small, well run park. Lady at check in was very friendly and helpful. Very clean showers that were a pleasure to use. The ladies offered shower rooms (2), one with a shower, sink and toilet and one with a shower/tub combo, sink and toilet. Plenty of hot water, nicely heated in the winter. Men's showers were more rudimentary, with shared sinks, toilet stalls and showers separate, not as well heated as the ladies side. Park was very quiet and felt safe. Although pet friendly, there wasn't really anywhere to take the dogs to potty, other than along the edges of the park where it was just bare dirt and weeds/stickers. But, owners still ask that you pick up after pets. We stayed one night on our way north, and liked it, so we stayed again on our way home. A nice, quiet, clean and safe place to stay the night. We arrived after hours the first night, Owners had very good directions on price and how to pay after hours, which was appreciated after a long day of driving.
